I am sure there is a loyalty to the players, but if they walk now they breach their contracts. Will probably join up with Pearson at Leeds/Middlesborough/Watford or Newcastle in October
Nigel brought it all on himself, you cant bring the club into disrepute after the way he behaved, he deserved the sack and should have gone on the day of the incident. football dont need managers like him......
Are you seriously suggesting Ferguson, Mourinho and Clough had personality changes after they became successful? You don't change who you are with success. You just allow that side of you to come out more because you feel untouchable. In that sense, Pearson was more genuine than the lot of them.
Where's the presumption? Some of his critics completely disappeared during our survival run. To deny that is to deny reality. Nobody thought he was perfect. There's no such thing. But at a club of our size, he's as good as it gets, as, sadly, I fear we'll now find out.
I'm gonna come out and say it - I don't think it will be Hiddink. I think he'd be my pick, but I just don't see what he's got to gain from it (although some thought the same about Cambiasso). Lennon's never achieved anything at managerial level. What right as he got to be "himself" yet?
Subs on the bench have also gone up from five to seven too. So you need at least 18 first team quality players. Would you say injuries are more commonplace too?
You can't say on one hand that you don't have agree with everything Pearson did and then on the other say you have to agree with the owners on everything. Our owners have been brilliant in many ways. This is not one of those ways.
I reckon. Remember Frank Large playing with a broken nose. Half of the players today would have shed tears and missed a couple of games. It was a hard physical game in the 60s which appealed to the working man. Players often got injured and shook it off. Mind you, a lot have suffered a great deal later in life from that combatative type of encounter.
... no I'm not ... I'm saying they were clever enough to cover it until they had achieved incontestable success... very different...
But as I went on to say, they irrefutably did. Can't see how pointing this out is arrogant in any way.
... the Celtic. trophy cabinet might siggest otherwise ... now before you dimiss that think carefully ..that league is comparable with ... I"d agree.. but I'd include quite a few of Nigel's antics in that ...
Celtic? Are you serious? Since Rangers disappeared they literally have no competition. What is it comparable with? Not many leagues that I can think of! I think the fact you didn't finish that comment says it all. It's like one Premier League side and eleven League One sides. Yes, I included Pearson in that comment. All those managers have acted unprofessionally at times but all have been successful at their clubs so it gets overlooked. Except at Leicester.
