Nobody's turning mate. A minority of the fans have ALWAYS been on his case. Some went reluctantly quiet when we he proved them wrong, but the resentment was still there and is now coming out again since he's no longer with the club.

I'm now worried about our club because a) we've lost a top, top manager and I think we're going to struggle to replace him b) he's built his own team, not just in terms of playing style but also mentality and attitude - a new manager may not (actually very likely won't) think the same, potentially causing turmoil (remember what happened with Mills, Danns, Beckford etc when Pearson came in?) and c) my belief that the Srivaddhanaprabhas weren't your typical trigger-happy owners has now gone. Unless something VERY SERIOUS has occurred that we don't know about, I see no justifiable reason for his sacking. It's certainly not football related and that's very disappointing. We all have to work with people we don't like. But if they get results, you put up with it. Basically, this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...sion-to-make-Leicester-chairman-feel-big.html

On the positive side, we may now get a manager who kisses up to the media and signs kid's autographs. Great. I know which I'd prefer.

.... wouldn't disagree ... but any different to what Gus Poyet achieved the season before? ... or what Tony Pulis has done on numerous occasions? ... not sure what your point is exactly ... mine is that arrogance is more easily tolerated on the back of exceptional success ... I don't recall Ferguson being particularly arrogant during his early years at Man United (despite having already achieved remarkable success with Aberdeen) ... similarly Mourinho wasn't giving it large as far as I recall until he'd taken unfashionable Porto to European trophies ... Clough was just incredible ... although it pains me to say it ... what did he do when he took Forest up? ... only went on to win the bloody league ...

... <laugh> a presumption that itself exudes arrogance? <laugh> .... the reality is that most of us on here that had criticised Nigel Pearson previously (in the Championship during a very poor run) actually got behind him and didn't waiver during the poor run in the Prem ... whilst I wouldn't presume to speak for others I can say that for me I appreciated what a step up the Prem is from the Championship, that it was a learning curve for all at the club (including the manager) and also that IMHO our best chance of survival was to stick with Pearson ... that didn't mean that I felt he was perfect by any means ...

If we were to get Guus Hiddink - big if admittedly - I'd see it as a huge milestone in my football club's evolution - an appointment the likes of which I didn't think I'd see during my lifetime ... PS the chances of Hiddink or Neil Lennon for that matter kissing up to the media is on a par with the proverbial snowball's ...

IMO he was our 2nd best manager, behind Martin O'Neill.

I go back to the latter days of Matt Gillies and him and Jimmy Bloomfield would rank well above Pearson. The teams they had played a lot of First Division football, as it was then, over consistent periods. Only one substitute in those days as well. I would also put Adams above Pearson

Completely agree about Matt Gillies and Jimmy Bloomfield, not sure about Mickey Adams though. He did brilliantly to get us promoted whilst in administration, but the stress got to him big time. Quite a few of the posters on here will only know about the three substitute rule. When I started watching, you couldnt make a sub, then 1 was introduced for injury purpose only. These days with the 3 sub rule and the dishing out of cards at a whim, means that you need a larger squad to compete.

I'm sure many many people will be returning their season tickets to the club and then buying one at whichever club NP turns up next won't they?

Also people criticising the owners? Wtf? Be very thankful we've not got owners like Blackpool!

Simple fact is nobody is bigger than the club, no Player,Owner or Manager.

The king is dead, long live the king.

Yes, the La Manga incident finished him big time.

What is it with our managers being finalised off by the actions of players on team trips abroad!!!

In reality that's not true, they're employed by the club.

If they remain at the club that'll say something about Pearson.

They all came here with Nigel first time, all followed him to Hull and all came back here with him

I suspect the reason they have agreed to take temporary charge might be out of loyalty to the players
