http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-move-closer-to-signing-former-west-ham-man-morrison QPR have moved closer to a deal to bring Ravel Morrison back to Loftus Road. Morrison, 22, agreed a move to Lazio after being shown the door by West Ham in February and Fifa rules mean he was unable to play for the Italian club last season so has yet to make an appearance for them. He is unhappy in Rome, and his representatives, who have been trying to negotiate his release, recently sounded Rangers out about a potential deal. Significant progress appears to have been made and Morrison could return to west London within the next few days. He made 15 league appearances, scoring six goals, during a loan spell at QPR from West Ham in 2014, helping the club reach the play-offs – which they won to secure promotion back to the top flight. Now back in the Championship following last season’s relegation, and with director of football Les Ferdinand and head coach Chris Ramsey at the helm, Rangers are looking to rebuild. They have some reservations about the wayward Morrison, who was booted out of Manchester United before his troubled spell at West Ham, who also loaned him to Cardiff and Birmingham after he fell out of favour at Upton Park. However, he did impress for much of his spell at QPR after being brought in by Harry Redknapp, and Rangers have decided they will sign him if the opportunity arises. Former Rangers manager Redknapp advised Morrison to move abroad in order to fulfil his potential, but the player is unsettled and would now welcome a move back to London.
We've rolled the dice on this one If he's in form then we have the best player in the league in our team. No question about that.
Agreed, but I think you can afford to roll the dice on one or two players in your team. It's the balance that's important, and not having too many egos. I'm glad we're not swinging too far the other way against egos. A team full of Taarabt's won't do well. Neither will a team of Jamie Mackie's. A nice balance will. Striking that balance is down to Chris and Les.
Indeed! I'm very happy with this if it goes through and his head's right. LF & CR know he's quality and that he possesses all the flair we love down Loftus Road. It's down to you LF and the coaching staff and of course you, RM!.
Could be the spark that is needed in the team or we need him like we need a hole in the head......toss a coin and see which way it falls..... Maybe a stroke of genius by CR & LF
Morrison has the ability to make Taarabt look like Mother Teresa. No doubt he's given the QPR bosses personal assurances. Just hope they keep his nuts in a vice
I see the other WHU misfit, Zarate, played 74 mins against Lusitanos in a UEFA qualifying match this evening. A nice 3-0 pre-season warm up for them, and again next week away. Perhaps the issue with Zarate was Big Sam's man management? An ex-pat WHU fan, who works at the local Costco here, and we compare football notes, is over on a family visit and had tickets to this game.
Deal Close: Queens Park Rangers set to sign ex-West Ham United playmaker FLW understands that Queens Park Rangers could be about to complete a deal to sign Ravel Morrison. please log in to view this image According to FLW sources, QPR are closing to signing Morrison It was thought that Morrison had signed a pre-contract agreement with Serie A club Lazio, although that now looks to be unclear following the news that the R’s are set to secure the player’s services – however according to FLW sources close to the London club, boss Chris Ramsey is keen on sealing a deal for the controversial midfielder. Morrison was a loanee for the R’s two season’s ago and was an unused substitute as Harry Redknapp’s side defeated Derby County 1-0 in the Play-Off Final at Wembley. He caught the eye with several eye-catching performances during his temporary stint at Loftus Road and scored six goals in 15 appearances during his time at the club. The ex-Manchester United trainee was tipped for bright things when he burst on the scene but so far he has failed to live up to the potential and has also had an unsuccessful spell with West Ham. Rangers boss Chris Ramsey is in the process of assembling a squad capable of mounting a promotion challenge back to the Premier League and has already signed seven players this summer. R’s fans would you welcome Morrison back to the club? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below! Would be a wonderful signing for us – I’m not sure how many R’s fans remember how good he is on the ball – hardly ever loses it – scores goals and threads incisive passes. Only problem being keeping his feet/ego on the floor, which I’m confident they’ll deal with! Brilliant signing for q.p.r was an excellent playmaker for us the last spell he had with our club. A maverick for sure, but if he can regain some focus, then Morrison could become a key addition to the squad. Great signing class act on his day hope we get him. would be a great signing for us he played well when he was here on loan could be near the end of a puzzle cr is building http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/de...rs-set-to-sign-ex-west-ham-united-playmaker/?
I did everything I could to support Zarate when it looked like he was coming our way but for the us, the club and everyone to find out after he that he was totally unfit, injured and or whatever, expelled all faith I had in him, our manager and our coaching staff. He must go down as one of the biggest duds we've ever had. He and his management pulled our clubs' pants down and off. Sincerely hope were not getting dudded again with Morrison.
Personally I'm truly undecided on the player but there is something I think worth pointing out. With this new code of conduct for the players and the shift of stance for not taking bull$hit, might make him be a lot more consistent and less chance of disrupting anything.
Looks like Lazio! http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/07/0...tm_source=twitter&utm_content=HITCdeadlineday
Zarate was a lazy ****er, it wasn't any surprise to me that he arrived at QPR unfit. A lot of fans wanted him to stay and used him as a reason Allardyce had to go, I laughed my tits off when he couldn't get a game with you, it highlighted our real problem, our fans. Morrison is a different kettle of fish, I'm fairly sure most of his problems come form the people that surround him, including his agent. It's a shame about Morrison, he really is phenomenally talented, but he's also a wannabe gangsta who has had his arse licked by so many people that his ego has swollen to an unmanageable size. He was doing great at West Ham until the papers started calling him for England, then it all went pear-shaped.
Yes, talent alone is not enough, you have to have commitment. If it's true Morrison will sign for Lazio, personally I don't see it as any loss. The guy will leave bodies behind where ever he goes.
Is he still on the radar or is this just more wannabe journalist bull? ... Queens Park Rangers are closing in on Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison according to the Italian media The former Manchester United player continues to be snubbed by Lazio coach Stefano Pioli, and since joining the Serie A side earlier in the year he's only played 45 minutes for the club in competitive matches. According to TMW QPR are looking to sign Morrison when the transfer window reopens in the New Year, and they will be on alert after comments from Pioli. He revealed the player is sick at the moment which is why he missed yesterday's game, but he still believes the attacking midfielder needs to adapt to his new club. Morrison was ruled out of Lazio’s 5-0 defeat to Napoli at the weekend because of stomach ache, and his only appearance this season was the 45 minutes he played against Chievo last month. "He's sick, but he’s yet to fully adapt to the schemes,” said the Lazio coach when asked about the absence of the former West Ham United star for the Napoli game. Morrison had an impressive pre-season for Lazio, and he was one of the stand out players during the summer for the Italian club. However, the player picked up an injury just before the start of the Serie A season, and he’s being playing catch up ever since. We covered reports during the last transfer window that QPR were interested in Morrison, and it seems they are in a strong position to land him in January. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/midfielder-nearing-qpr-move-after-coach-expressed-concerns
