Tony Barrett @TonyBadNews 11m11 minutes ago Liverpool have decided to pay the full sum of Christian Benteke's £32.5m release clause. Story to follow shortly on @TimesSport.
FFS imagine Ayra negotiating with Villa for them to get the price down.. Meh, **** it lad we'll pay the lot.
Just Jimmy, if we pay anything over £25m we've been had. I expect another Carroll situation only with less injuries.
There's a good piece on the Echo website 90% fluff but a bit about balotelli choice posed to rodgers and a bit about ayre saying how it works. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ws/liverpool-fcs-transfer-committee---9575259 In fairness to rodgers if you were told it's badontelly or etto or nothing and you didn't shoot yourself valley style.... well ..
I personally wouldn't mind us signing Benteke. The reality is the best strikers in the world will go to the best clubs in the world, unfortunately that's not us anymore. Benteke is in the next category if you ask me, and with quality players around surely he'll bag plenty. Think how many chances we had last season, no-one could put them in the net. I'm almost certain if Beteke was there he would have hit 20 goals. He's also still young so plenty of chances for the coaches to work on his progression. Obviously there is better out there, but the reality is why would they join??
Fair point. But due to the way Villa play this was always going to be a question. He's actually a lot more versatile than people think. He's a quick thinker, and no matter what your style is being able to be think a few passes ahead is a bonus. I personally think after some good training sessions with our reversed wingers (?), inside out 10's (?) and false number 9's (?) he'll adopt to the style we play nicely.
