If we want to improve as a club, we need to take the best option to keep us in the league, why would we sign a risky manager who might get us relegated if Allardyce could keep us in the league If its a matter of entertaining football, its far more entertaining going against some of the best clubs in the world than going up against the likes of Preston or MK Dons.
If we do get Neil Lennon I guess it would also see the return of another legend (If FF allows him to be called that) in Emile Heskey Obviously it wouldnt be as a player but on a coaching capacity
... would disagree ... I want us to be brave and go out with the intention of giving the top clubs a real game - attacking with flair and taking the game to the opposition, whoever they are... Sam might keep us in this league ... but I for one would soon get bored with only competing in games deemed 'winnable' because the opposition are much of a muchness with us ... I don't fancy getting beaten 5-0 at Forest in the cup because I've rested the better players with the midweek midtable contest with Stoke in mind because staying in the league is the priority ... or getting drubbed by Man City for similar reasons ... no 'entertainment' fo me in laying down against the big clubs ... Lenny managed Celtic to beat Barcelona ... (that's Barcelona!!!) ... OK that is just one game but they also put up creditable performances against other top European sides ... that fills me with some confidence about his tactical astuteness but more so it fills me with some excitement ... which I don't get from the prospect of Big Sam ... but he would get my full support should it be him.
... given that he is a local Leicester lad who went on to play centre-forward for his country I'm happy to 'allow' you to call him that ... if however you had claimed that he merited the epithet for coping succesfully with the demands of League 1, I might have a different opinion Finally, can I just say that I'm rather flattered to get so many mentions in the recent posts you make ... at this rate I'll soon be a forum legend ... I do of couurse understand that I'll never get close to replacing Nigel in your affections and humbly accept my limitations in such regard ...
You just think your opinions are right and everyone elses is wrong and spout bollocks about your age to try and justify it. Nigel Pearson will go down as a legend here is many fans eyes. Not everyone which is fair enough. I respect your opinion if you dont see it like you should respect mine. Not behaving like a complete **** like you continously do about it If you dont agree with my opinion no problem but dont try and get on your high horse about yours
What! does no-one want us to sign the best manager that will give us the best opportunity to guarantee safety! Lets put it this way ... i can give you a chocolate bar OR please log in to view this image i can give you this shiny wrapped box that may or may not have a chocolate bar in it. please log in to view this image which do you choose?
How is Sam boring? Seriously, I get told that he is but I remember him being brilliant at Bolton back in the day and West Ham being really good in the few matches I've seen last season - we played basically the same with long balls to the striker and attacking wide players so are we considered boring as well? Lennon hasn't impressed me at all - all he really has done is finish first in a one horse race in Scotland after Rangers got done and not get relegated at Bolton. Also why is Cambiasso in the mix? Has he ever gave any interest in being a manager? Does he have any qualifications? Can he even speak English? We need someone with experience - now is not the time for risks as we spent a good amount of money so far and would be screwed if we got relegated.
Cambiasso is in the mix as he was already here last season and proved his abilities while playing last season. It was like having a manager on the pitch at times, he was organising the team and keeping them focused Could go onto be one of the best coaches in the world one day
... well give me a minute to get down of my horse Tex ... it's a bit of a steep drop ... ... just a few things - by definition eveyone 'thinks' their opinion is right surely? ... or do you voice yours thinking that they are wrong? .. ... my age does not 'justify' my opinion ... it does I believe give it some perspective (IMHO )... ... my 'behaviour' ??? you seem to have a problem with anyone (not just me) having the temerity to question your assertions / not agree with your views ... it's a virtual democracy on here buddy ... ... personally I have no problem with anybody disagreeing with any view I have ... and on the whole I suspect I agree with as many opinions as I disagree with (just check out my 'likes' given) - but you seem to have major issues with anyone that does not subcribe to your view - and get all hissy on the occasions that it happens ... particularly if someone has a bit of fun when responding .. ... ... finally I have no problem with any fan seeing Nigel Pearson as a club legend - we all have our own heroes and role models - Nigel is just not one of mine and you seem to take any criticism of him very personally (again IMHO)...
Perhaps the question should be... Do you want a chocolate bar? Or this shiny box, which may not have a chocolate bar in... But on the other hand, it could have 10 chocolate bars!?
I agree that Sam built an attractive side at Bolton and made some impressive signings to boot ... JJ Okocha and Djorkaeff particularly ... but he has been a different animal since those times and Newcastle and Hammers fans have both complained about his approach in enteetainment terms ... Lennon - yes it is a bit of a one team league up there admittedly - but you can only beat what is in front of you ... and he managed those same players to beat Barcelona ... they also had other fine performances in Europe inder his tenure ... as I posted elsewhere, that gives me cause for optimism because he obviously did his homework before producing such performances ...
... that's it? ... that's your response? ... your concluding statemet? ..really? ... goodness ... I swear by the blood of Saint Nige ... I do believe that I may be caught in a battle of wits with someone unarmed ... I concede!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arguing with Proud is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board and strut around like it's victorious.
Glad to hear that at least. I seriously can't believe the owners have sacked Pearson and have no-one lined up. It's madness if that's the case.
