Good Morning Everyone,

It's the hottest day of the year today, and with temperatures getting into the 90's today, drink plenty of water!!!

It's a sizzling day on the Elland Road front too.

Chris Wood has passed his medical at Elland Road, and has agreed a four year contract at the club.

Last night Wolves withdrew their bid for the 23 year old striker (after it became public knowledge they didn't have a chance.)

Isn't it nice for a player that we rally want to choose our club over a competitor?

That would not have happened a few years ago.

Let's just hope that the sacking of Nigel Pearson does not put spanners in the works....

Afternoon all. Lots of positivity regarding Wood. Is he really worth a 4 year contract? Will we play with1 up front, or given all of our other strikers, who will partner him?

Steve Thompson has joined the coaching staff at Preston. I'm sure Grayson will get the best out of him.

What is the next position Leeds need to tighten up on?

Afternoon all. Did my last post asking who Wood will partner & whether or not he really is worth a 4 yea contract actually post?

If we don't bring anyone in, the task of ball winning in midfield will probably fall to the kids. Luke murphy will also have to step up

I think Byram is on his bike because just seen some quotes from Cellino on twatter: I try and keep him, I try and build a team around him. I like to keep better players ......... He has a value and if Everton reach that number he is playing with Luke Garbutt next term

Touch of Deja vu here - is that not verbatim what he said about Ross?? Looks like Sam is off then

If you're right about Barker this season is getting interesting for sure - what is the source for that (I know it has ben rumoured) but what makes you say he is signing today?
I saw it on News Now it seemed genuine enough and since I have seen a video of the lad he is very modest got his head screwed on pacey can catch pidgeonsplays on left wing and has played for England under 19 .Has been under the tutelage of his dad .Hence the reason I say he has his head screwed on apparently a done deal 12 months loan and a buy on clause as he will be out of contract next year

Next position we need to tighten up on (for me) is wingers. The last time we saw a natural wide man at Elland Road was Snodgrass and that was YEARS ago! You can see from the better teams last season they all play with natural, pacey widemen and it works. I can't wait for the start of the season when we'll be able to watch a winger beat a man to by line and stick a ball across the face of goal...

Good call on wingers. Any sign of any wingers on their way?
Couple of rumours I've heard Boggers...

Adam Drury - Ex Man City youth player is on trial with us currently. Plays right wing.
Brandon Barker - Left winger from Man City also. Apparently a season long loan.
Murphy - From sheff united, apparently a swap with Billy Sharp.

Not sure how true any of these are barring Drury because he was pictures training today.

Shams. Couldn't agree more. This says we are serious about having a go at promotion either now or in the near future and if we sign good players it persuades other better players to join. Whether he is a success or not we signed a player that was well sought after <applause>.
I thought it was short for shame..I'm thick so I wouldn't have noticed..

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/teams/eds/midfielders/brandon-barker - There were a couple of reports that he only had a year to run on his contract, I can't see it myself, either way and as Josh pointed out in a different thread this lad would cost a fortune due to his age. He has stated his desire to go out on a season long loan and prove himself to City, seems he is on his way.

Clearly not the same Adam Drury that played LB for us I take it

Barker is very skillful and very fast. I've got a few mates who are Man City fans who think of him as a future "Robben" type. Although he can drift in/out of games even at Man City U18 and he can be a bit lazy.

Although saying that, what pacy wingers don't drift in/out of games. It's pretty much inevitable bar Ronaldo/Bale and the like.

Really hope we sign him. Drury is apparently similar but with less class and a lot more raw. Think Gboly Ariyibi (?) esque - could be brilliant, could be ****.

As much as I generally ignore everything 60 says as I can't be ****ing arsed reading his broken English. His judgment of players has always been good in my opinion.
