Young, fat and considered a potentially top class prospect. Internationally capped and nominated by his fellow professionals as the best left back in the league when he was 18. It may not work out well but it was a transfer that seemed to have more than just the hope of mediocrity behind it. My point is that Clyne is an uninspiring signing, he's a safe bet to be decent but very unlikely to be anything more than that.
