Nigel Pearson has been sacked confirmed by the club ****ing mental Leicester City Football Club has today (Tuesday) relieved its First Team Manager, Nigel Pearson, of his duties. The Board of Directors recognises the success Nigel has helped to bring to Leicester City during his two spells in charge of the Club, particularly during the last three and a half years. However, it has become clear to the Club that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us. Regrettably, the Club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the Board is no longer viable. Leicester City’s owners, Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, and the Board of Directors would like to place on record their thanks to Nigel for the considerable contribution he has made during his time with the Club and wish him well in the future. Khun Vichai and Khun Top remain wholly committed to the Club’s long-term development and to on going investment in a squad that will continue to be competitive in the Premier League. We trust that the Club’s supporters will recognise that the owners have always acted with the best interests of the Club at heart and with the Club’s long-term future as their greatest priority. Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh will take charge of first team duties while the Club begins its recruitment of a new manager. There will be no further comment until this process has concluded. @John__Percy 51s52 seconds ago Nigel Pearson leaves #lcfc. Said to be breakdown in relationship with club's board. Well done James Pearson you complete and utter ****ing twat
What was you lot saying the other week about losing money on Pearson being the first manager to get sacked ? Crazy decision by the way and I can't stand the bloke !
@Dorselator Pearson's sacking by #lcfc because of irreconcilable differences that have built up between him and board, I'm told. Sacking of his son key.
@GaryLineker 1m1 minute ago Leicester City have sacked Nigel Pearson! Really? WTF! Could you kindly reinstate him like the last time you fired him?
His son had to go. Pearson backed his son? (At least he puts family loyalty first). Owners then got rid of the man who achieved an amazing great escape. I can see both sides if this is what happened. A shame though. Good manager.
Lost respect for the owners after seeing this. We finally had stability and w'rennow going backwards again. Favourites for relegation again it is
His sons sacking probably has got a lot to do with it, but surely nige would have realised the public reaction to what his son got up to, and there really wasn't any other action that could have been taken. I wonder how much Okazakis signing was down to the board to raise our profile in Asia, and not Nigel's? Can't see him having transfer policy dictated to him. Can't even start to think who might replace him, hasn't sunk in. Madness!,
Stunned. No one person makes the club but Pearson has really picked us up on and off the field and without him don't believe we would be where we are. If this is because of his sons actions then its even sadder as sacking him was the only outcome for such a brainless act. Feel like when O'Neill left.
Its interesting looking back that it was Steve Walsh who was interviewed about Okazaki coming and not Pearson. Maybe this has been simmering for some time something the bookies got wind of.
To be fair, I heard from someone who works at the club, not long after ostrichgate, that Pearson would be relieved of his duties in the summer whether we survived or not. I didn't post it because a) I hoped it wasn't true and b) didn't want it sound like another friend-of-a-friend story. Sadly, because of that, this isn't a big surprise to me. The replacement will have to be of a high standard otherwise I'd worry for us. Pearson has built his own squad who share his vision and mentality. This may not be the case with another manager. I'd also wonder how this will affect Cambiassio's decision to stay - or maybe he's the next manager! A dark day - but it's always darkest before the dawn.
