Worth a pop! Outside of that though, Sky say we've put £1m in for their 6'1" central midfielder Kevin McDonald. please log in to view this image That's pretty much on the money for the Scotsman.
I see that Celtic are reported to be in for the rated Man U right back Saidy Jeako 1,5m offered, Feel he would do us nicely
My guess is nil, but who knows? I seem to recall two years when there were rumours that we were after him, some on this board were sneering about us going after 'League One players'. Funny how things change.
He's a Defensive Midfielder by trade, Craving. A big, strong lad who had a good season for Wolves: going by his stats at any rate - http://www.whoscored.com/Players/20100 The rumour chain has it that Wolves have accepted our offer, which would be excellent if correct.
Looks as though our £500k attempt to sign [B}Jazz Richards[/B] is all but dead. The local paper says talks between us and Swansea have stopped. please log in to view this image Since his performance in the Wales v Belgium match Premiership clubs have stepped into the frame, with Norwich being favourites to get him. Although, the latest lot - West Ham - could nip them. Can’t say I’m particularly upset by this news and in the local paper article, this paragraph sums up the “Fulham” perspective perfectly: "Although Whites boss Kit Symons made no secret of his admiration for a player he coached as Wales assistant boss, Richards pulled up no trees during his time at the Cottage, according to fans, and missed a couple of games through injury in his 14-match stay after arriving in the January transfer window.” Source: http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fulham-stall-over-move-swansea-9545846
Drat me ... no sooner said than a completely different story surfaces - Amy Lewis✔@SkySportsAmy Sources: Swansea right back Jazz Richards to have medical at Fulham tomorrow ahead of permanent move there. Think that's actually a 'double drat' from me!! Or to put it another way horlicks!
Is a medical even necessary for Jazz? He obviously passed one back in January and was fit and healthy up until the end of the season. If he does come back it's pretty much the same as any other Fulham player reporting back for pre-season. Surely just a formality and the transfer will be announced sooner rather than later. If we do get McDonald that must be our lot for centre mid, and a bloody good lot at that. Compare them to the signings from last season and it looks encouraging. Pringle > Chihi Cairney > Eisfeld McDonald > Guthrie O'Hara > Fazlic (assuming we sign him) New Groundsman > Fotheringham Add to that the fact that the likes of Hyndman and LVC are a year further in their development we could be very pleased with out (centre) midfield options.
Agreed re FBs, but I really don't think we need to sign a keeper. Lonergan and Bettinelli is a decent competition, in my opinion. If they both get injured we've got Joronen, Norman and an emergency loan system.
3 senior keepers is the way to go. If Joronen goes out on loan the we need another. If not then we're ok.
If Richards sign then I would still like us to sign Husband/ left back and then spend a large amount on a quality centre back Fulham Ireland I think a medical would be compulsory as it's not just about fitness didn't they make checking for heart conditions compulsory for medicals a year or two ago so doubt you could get away without having a medical when completing a transfer
The biggest improvement of them all, perhaps. I hear this Groundsman feller covers every blade of grass.
Works hard for sure but heard he didn't pull up any trees at his last club and went to ground a lot - he's a turf competitor though!
A follow up bid of £3m for Lewis Dunk has apparently been turned down. "A host of Premier League and Championship clubs are thought to be interested in Dunk, but Fulham are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring him to Craven Cottage. Fulham are understood to have increased their offer to £3 million after seeing a £2.5 million bid for Dunk rejected last month. However, Brighton have rejected the improved offer as Seagulls boss Chris Hughton is determined to keep hold of Dunk for next season. It remains to be seen if Fulham come back with a new improved bid for Dunk to try and lure the 23-year-old to West London” Source: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/07/02/brighton-rejects-fulhams-new-bid-for-dunk/ Really hope we keep pushing for him and Kevin McDonald. Together they would give us a terrific spine.
If we got those 2 that would be most of, if not all of the alleged £10 million war chest we had to play with gone. Would we be prepared to go into next season with Just Roberts, Pringle, Kaca and G. Williams as first team wingers?
LVC, Cairney and McCormack could do a job there too but the big question for me is if we will play with wingers. I'd put a crumpled fiver down that our formation for the first game will be the trusty diamond - if we are going to do this then we need a new DM, CB and LB in pronto. If by some miracle Kit has been reading my posts and decides to go for a 4-3-3 I would be happy with the players listed for cover, and a fiver down.
