Genghis Khan's empire barely outlived him. Which would suggest it was largely illusory, based on nothing but fear. You might as well say the Kray twins were great administrators.

Genghis Khan=a Hells Angel on horseback. Actually that's not fair on Hells Angels; they'll probably outlast Sonny Barger
You could argue that the Krays were fine administrators. The debate is relative to time, industry and results.

To create and maintain an empire requires administrative skills, whether delegation is employed or not. To suggest Genghis Khan's empire was based solely on fear is akin to saying Hitler was only an effective orator because he had a loud voice.

Interesting. Your initial posts on the subject are nothing more than expletive-laden drivel, yet now you are offering a cohesive and intelligent counter-argument.

However, you've actually done a pretty good job in promoting Genghis as a fine administrator. <ok>

If you're interested, I could probably find you some work as a researcher.

Hardly <laugh> 2 ****s doesn't constitute expletive-laden.

Genghis couldn't even mediate between his 2 eldest sons (If the written history is to be believed) so to assume that he somehow managed to rule over a quarter of the worlds then population is quite laughable to me. He couldn't solve an issue between 2 people but he could effectively rule 25% of the worlds population without batting an eyelid. No, not buying it.

I enjoy history but I wouldn't enjoy being a historian or researcher. It took me 17 years to figure out what I actually wanted to do. I'll be ****ed if I'm going through that again.

So what do you want to do when you grow up? (apart from schooling Ponders on *****l history, that is).

I enjoy my work and whats more I'm good at it. Contrary to what Mick believes not all of us work for simply for the pay cheque.

It's not a case of me schooling him either. There's nothing wrong with having a different opinion on someone 800 years old.

Is that the fella who played cricket for Pakistan and married some posh bird?

Genghis Khan didn't rule a quarter of the world's population. It's a lie.

The great academics of the world have been schooled by MD.

To think I was actually taking you seriously. <doh> You did a job on me good and proper, so hats off to you on that one. <applause>

The Bastard never effectively controlled his sons, but he'll always be remembered as a great leader and administrator.

Daft argument.

So you think that Genghis Khan made decisions for 25% of the worlds population on a daily basis?

"To think I was actually taking you seriously."

Indeed. Never effectively controlled his sons but effectively controlled a quarter of the world, of which his two sons were included.

45 years and I still haven't found the ****ing answer <doh>
