You could argue that the Krays were fine administrators. The debate is relative to time, industry and results.

To create and maintain an empire requires administrative skills, whether delegation is employed or not. To suggest Genghis Khan's empire was based solely on fear is akin to saying Hitler was only an effective orator because he had a loud voice.

    Hardly <laugh> 2 ****s doesn't constitute expletive-laden.

Genghis couldn't even mediate between his 2 eldest sons (If the written history is to be believed) so to assume that he somehow managed to rule over a quarter of the worlds then population is quite laughable to me. He couldn't solve an issue between 2 people but he could effectively rule 25% of the worlds population without batting an eyelid. No, not buying it.

I enjoy history but I wouldn't enjoy being a historian or researcher. It took me 17 years to figure out what I actually wanted to do. I'll be ****ed if I'm going through that again.

I don't actually know that much about Cnut.

I was simply wiki-raping norsk history when I came across him.

I enjoy my work and whats more I'm good at it. Contrary to what Mick believes not all of us work for simply for the pay cheque.

It's not a case of me schooling him either. There's nothing wrong with having a different opinion on someone 800 years old.

Genghis Khan didn't rule a quarter of the world's population. It's a lie.

To think I was actually taking you seriously. <doh> You did a job on me good and proper, so hats off to you on that one. <applause>

The Bastard never effectively controlled his sons, but he'll always be remembered as a great leader and administrator.

    Daft argument.

So you think that Genghis Khan made decisions for 25% of the worlds population on a daily basis?

"To think I was actually taking you seriously."

Indeed. Never effectively controlled his sons but effectively controlled a quarter of the world, of which his two sons were included.

<laugh> or ingesting people's farts and regurgitating them. To be fair there's probably a lucrative market for that in Japan.
