Well, I'm half Italian and not Scottish... But he is a very good driver, I hope he'll end up at one of the top teams.
With these stats I think it's worth bearing in mind that Maldonado has a superior team mate than Di Resta but to be fair to them both, it's very early to judge them properly.
26. Karthikeyan - simply the worst
25. De La Rosa - not so much a has-been, more like a never-was
24. Ricciardo - can't say better at this stage
23. Liuzzi - this may be harsh given his car
22. Trulli - move over Jarno, give someone else a chance
21. D'Ambrosio - maybe harsh again as he shows some spark in an awful car
20. Sutil - Results flatter him, his team mate doesn't
19. Massa - sadly hasn't recovered from injury and should be put out of his misery
18. Barrichello - should be doing better
17. Buemi - as with Sutil, results flatter him
16. Maldonado - great in quali and compares well to his experienced team mate
15. Di Resta - as Maldonado + 2 points
14. Glock - struggles manfully in an awful car
13. Michael Schumacher - the shuntmeister should be doing better, makes car look bad
12. Heikki Kovalainen - trying to get out of the Lotus position
11. Nico Rosberg - not delivering on promise, makes car look average
IMAO. I've tried to go on reputation, experience/innocence and car quality as much as stats when considering this.

I think alonso will be at number 1. He's having a great season in an underperforming car.
To be fair, Vettel has had a flawless (bar 1 major mistake) season. His car makes him look worse than he is, if thats possible.

No, what I mean is that everyone is saying its the car, and that Vettel is crap. Obviously the car is good, but its not all the car. He's doing all he can.
