Nah not really But with the Clyne/Hodgson spat it wouldn't really suprise me, but no I don't honestly believe it.
Roy famously slated Glen Johnson when he was Liverpool manager but used him as his first choice RB for ages as Englad manager. Personally I like Clyne. He is England's best RB, and is young so will improve. My only concern is that a lot of full backs who start young become very injury prone. Once Clyne is officially signed shall we ring in Shneiderlin and Wanyama to complete this summers trio?
Might have been a slight exaggeration 2012 World cup... Joe Hart, Robert Green, John Ruddy, Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Ashley Young, Andy Carroll, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck. Reserves: Jack Butland, Phil Jagielka, Jordan Henderson, Adam Johnson, Daniel Sturridge. I picked Martin Kelly and Jon Flanagan for some none world cup games too.
It was the one where the whole team was **** and looked like had never seen a football before.... wait it a minute
I actually think we did better tan expected in that Tournement, it just wasnt very memorable as we were not great or terrible.
Schneiderlin will be off to United or Arsenal, CL teams Hands off our Victor he'll go eventually but we can't lose him & Morgan in same Summer.
So far: First team signings: Milner, Firmino, Clyne. Squad signings: Ings, Bogdan. Youth signing: Gomez. I'm happy so far. I do wished we'd shown more ambition than Bogdan as second keeper but hey ho. One step at a time.
I reckon Rodgers wanrs a prolific striker and another creative midfielder and that will be it for this summer. I dont want to see to many signings this summer like the last 2 years. We have already made/agreed 5. Bacca and Illaramendi maybe.
And only 35m spent on that so far. The 2 first team signings are where the main money has been spent as well. Freebies es for the squad, money for the quality first. Can't complain just need to start shifting some players now, then3 amigos up front and sterling should bring in about 60-65m to cover the expenditure and possibly leave 1 more big signing like Illarra or bacca
