Like I said, some footballers don't care about playing. By the way, what's with this you miserable gits? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...sionate-in-the-Premier-League-on-Twitter.html
that will be bargain. However with LC, Ake & No Mikel we should be Ok for that position. Morever ACON will be a thorn.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/33232195 looks like Cech is moving across town. I just wish we take one of their better players in player + cash deal. Lets not give pre-season and let Cech join on the last day of the transfer window. Everyone acknowledges Cech could add 15 points to Goons. That could be 5 wins since Ospina or Szesny cannot do that kind of stuff. Last season, goons were only 12 pts behind us. We need to make 4 more points then. Guess we will be ok.
To be honest I would put Arsenal as favourites for the title next season as things stand, you lot rely too heavily on Matic, Hazard and Fabregas, injury to any two of those three and you could struggle where Arsenal have decent backup in all positions.
Agree Diego. Goons may be ready. But I trust Arsene to goof up. On another note, Bertrand gets Work permit. Just gobsmacked about John Square's purchase. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/33232200
That`s my one reservation, they always seem to go through a few weeks of self destruct 19 goals or Traore sounds good, do you see him getting many chances in the first team?
All his goals were incredible albeit in "inferior" league. Will be glad if he gets 20 decent league appearances. Anything more, will be asking for too much.
He won't get as many as he should get. I fancy him to be in our first team squad next season though. I think the fact that he can play as a striker, winger or just in behind will work in his favour. I'd prefer him over Bamford, he's a bit quicker, stronger and just seems to have a bit more about him. Sure the dutch league is inferior but there are some decent talents in there. The only player who scored more than him was Depay,i think?
So a bit more recent transfer news. Mikel has said he wants to leave due to lack of opportunities. I think we could get around 8-10M on him and if we can replace him with Song that's pretty good business. Looks like Cech is off to Arsenal for 11M. Despite what many think, i'm of the opinion that 11M for a 33 year old keeper in the last year of his contract is again pretty good business rivals or not. Andreas Christensen looks like joining Monchengladbach on loan for the season. Hopefully that will work out better than Kalas loan in Germany last season.... Charly Musonda was interesting plenty of teams including Porto, Arsenal, Marseille and Monaco but we'll only let him leave on loan apparently, which is good for us because he looks awesome. An interesting one i saw yesterday was Begovic to us in a deal involving Moses with cash. I wouldn't complain at that and with them already having Butland and the Scandinavian keeper they signed (can't remember his name) then there could be something in it.
Does anyone think we need or will go for any marquee signings? The paper talk of the likes of Pogba and Sterling seems unrealistic to me given their price and the other teams interested. So far it just seems we are likely to bring in replacement for exiting squad players. Potential for say Falcao, Song and Bergavic to replace Drogba, Mikel and Cech. Perhaps sensible additions but nothing that greatly moves us forward and as they say, if you're standing still you're actually moving backwards in the premier league. Traore and Loftus Cheek could well be the youngsters promoted. Just think we maybe need an exciting 30-40 million pound player to either play central alongside Matic or another number 10 maybe? Isco, Koke, Gundogen??
Mourinho said at the end of the season he wanted 2-3 additions. So i imagine that's not including the likely replacements for Drogba, Cech and maybe Mikel. Begovic and Song would be good replacements but i don't want Falcao. I'd rather we used Traore as the third striker. I think we might spend big on a Centre Back and then we'll add a midfielder too, although what type of midfielder we'll get i haven't a clue. Although i guess it's quite out in the open that we'd like Sterling so maybe we're looking at an attacking midfielder.
Like i said before, I would either like a world class right winger and shift Willian into the middle. Or a world class am to replace Oscar or a world class cm to let fab go into the hole. Either way we need to replace the very average Oscar. Hopefully we can sell him for lots of money like mata or luiz. For some reason people really rate Oscar when i think hes very average.
With Oscar I think you have to take his age into some account. How many players are playing regularly at number 10 for a top international and club side at his age? Must be something there. I think he'll get better and better and consistency is more the problem than ability.
Not sure myself, i look at him and i see a jack of all trades master of none. He scores the occasional worldy (that outside of the boot goal was fantastic) but when i see him play i see the following: Good control Good movement Slightly above average shooting but shoots way too often like Frank but without the striking ability Okay dribbler but will never be able to drift past a good defender/defensive midfielder fairly weak quite energetic Passings okay but it will hardly ever be a Mata or Fabregas that splits the defence. Sure he might fit into a team chasing 4th but there are far more midfielders i would have especially in that creative/goalscoring AM role that he has. I want a special player not one that is just above functional. Just my take personally.
Who would you have who is realistically get able out of interest? I think Kroos would have been great a year ago, shame he went to Madrid and got shoe horned into a position that is not his best.
