Absolutely dreadful performance so far. Watched all three games and don't have much hope for the future international team, Rio Ferdinand summed it up perfectly the other week.

Haven't seen any of them. I can quite imagine what its like though.

I wonder how long before another root and branch investigation is made into how to play the game only to miss the point again.

I have no idea how anyone can be bothered to watch England anymore.

I must say that Redmond could not have played any worse if he tried.....although he is not alone!

I agree, but there has been so many poor players though, I haven't seen Chalobah play a convincing pass to a fellow England player, the media are banging on about Kane and Ing's who have hardly set the tournament alight, the defence is absolutely shocking too.

How Forster Caskey and Chalobah get in ahead of Ward Prowse and Loftus-Cheek is beyond me.!

Chalobah has been the weakest link in the team the whole tournament, he can't deal with being pressured and his passing is way to casual, is Southgate trying to use him as a deep lying playmaker type player? It's failed miserably.

I don't think there has been a decent young England team since Peter Taylor, unfortunately Howard Wilkinson was on the scene at the same time.

We will not improve until at National level we understand that the basics of the game are proper defending, passing, running into spaces and putting the ball into the net. We get away with it at Club level because our Country produces the ' headless chicken' and we import the skill from abroad. I often despair of our full National team but if what I saw last night is our future - god help us. As long as our game continues to think that the likes of Milner are International players and that the likes of Ings are our future we will get nowhere and until we get more Wengers in as Coaches and less people like Pulis we will continue on the slippery slope to International oblivion.

The fact is we went into a major competition without our best qualified players. Wilshire, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Stones, Barclay, Sterling and others were not included so they could have a decent break on the orders of senior management. They will now head to the Far East, but not Philippines unfortunately, with their clubs. What break?

Stones was there and played last night - he was crap!! 3 of the others were in the full squad for the Euro qualifier and went there at the end of the season. They would then have gone straight to the under 21 squad and from there straight into pre-season training which, with the best will in the world, is unsustainable. Southgate had no choice but to stick with the players who got them there.

Do they really need to be playing U21 football as well?

If i'm on 40,000 a week i want to make sure i'm not burnt out by mid season or completely by the time I'm 30.

I didn't see last nights game, but in the previous two Redmond has been excellent. The write up I read in the times said he was the only player to come back with an enhanced reputation.

Tbh I think he decision making has got far better this year, he was visibly developing. It helped him to play in the right but I think it's good he can switch. Last time for redderz the premier league was being thrown in at the deep end now I think it's probably his level.
