It was all a bit depressing - a bit like our senior side playing Italy's. Ponderous, poor technique, telegraphed passing, woeful finishing. However, whilst not being very penetrative, I thought Redmond did OK and it was a nice goal - he's definitely getting better at shooting. Ings missed a couple of really good chances - I bet a few Liverpool supporters were slightly alarmed that they might have a new Ricky Lambert! (how much was he? LOL) Kane's accuracy was poor but at least he tried with potshots. I thought Chalobah, in a key midfield role, was very poor and it didn't help at all that he kept on setting up Italy's attack for them. Lotus-Cheek could be a star of the future IMO but should have been on from the start. We actually had the lion's share of possession (actually reflected in overall tournament stats too) but just never really attacked with conviction apart from the odd splutter. What we don't know are the unspoken EPL constraints, e.g. time on pitch/don't get them injured, that Gareth Southgate has to work to.
