Hobbs was nowhere near our best defender. He was inured till Xmas (I think) and in and out after that. didnt play the last game agsinst Cardiff, on the bench. Macca Faye and Chezza preferred.
He was IMO, however I was trying to put players I thought were better than Quinn in our promotion year, I thought he was one.
Quinn was the Players player of the season so what would I know lol I just think there were better players that's all
I would of put Chester, Rosenior, Koren, Elmo and even Aluko (alright not as many games but top scorer) above him. I think if the nucleus of the team stay for next year we are not doomed like some say but far stronger than the year we went up. Burnley and QPR will both be without there main strikers for next year, have to see what happens over the course of the next few weeks transfer wise but i am quite optimistic for us next season
Quinn was a very decent player at this level. When the transfer window closes and some of our more 'expensive recognised' players are gone. I'll be very surprised if we aren't all looking around and saying I wish he along with Rosey and Macca (probably more to come) were still with us.
I can understand the reasons behind letting Rosie leave as he has had bugger all game time recently - whether you agree with the formation choice or not. However Macca has been a fairly consistent player across the last few seasons, in fact you could argue Bruce has brought the best out of him, so I'm more disappointed in him leaving, hopefully SB has faith in Maguire stepping up.
Quinniesta was easily our best player the season we went up, Elmo winning Fans' POTY was a travesty in my eyes. At least the players made the right choice.
Whilst Huddlestone looked like a big fat dog that couldn't move or have any effect upon a game? I know which I'd prefer. Are you saying our 2012/13 squad had rose tinted spectacles?
You obviously use Wikipedia like Roo. You might also want to use the right column. He made 5 appearances, no goals....
We are failing to keep Quinn, we didn't 'fail to keep' Rosenior (or McShane) as we succeeded (unfortunately) in pushing them out. Quinn clearly sees another Championship club as a better prospect to Hull City AFC and that is not encouraging when weighing up how transfer targets might view us as their new club. Is Thudd a a better player than Quinn? IMO yes, he is, when he is played correctly and given the motivation to contribute to his potential; but he rarely has been and that is the manager's contribution to the tactical farce. Thudd ended up (in the promotion year) being judged on his inability to break the goal/hair jinx, he eventually did and then most wanted more, but it was a lack of goals from strikers that created this pressure.
