Kept dropping off yesterday during the day as if I had been drugged, so hardly surprising I can't sleep now. Trouble is you can then get in a cycle of it....do we sound old? I remember with nostalgia being a teenager and able to sleep to Olympic standard.

Waking up in time for Sunday lunch and then off to play football.... Those were the days!

It's your age. I only wake early hoping to find Kylie still here. Somehow she's always gone, it's almost as if it's not real and only a dream.

Bloody hell, FLT. I was quite enjoying this banter until you felt forced to confess your obsession again. You need help, mate. You really do!

As for your ageing issues, Fran, I'm still waiting for all the advantages I was assured came with "maturity" to kick in. Getting knackered doing any sort of travel is a real bugger - coming back from Southampton gives me bloody jet lag these days.

Before electric lighting and earlier forms of home illumination became common place people would go to bed when it was dark often getting up in the middle of the night and then going back to bed a couple of hours later finally getting up again at dawn. Leaves you wondering if those of us who wake up for a couple of hours every night have regressed to an ancestral Neanderthal life style!

The great thing about getting older is that you no longer care what you look like...went round Majorca wearing comfy (a favourite over-60 word) Skechers instead of blister-inducing sandals. Heaven.

btw...must spread the word, Skechers are a gift from God. My 2 friends were in identical shoes to me and now regard me as some kind of guru. :)

Funny, I always picture Gurus to wear sandals

The Times are reporting that Spurs are now favourites to sign Toby after he told friends he is joining them.
