BREAKING: @SwansOfficial complete the signing of Franck Tabanou from @ASSEofficiel for an undisclosed fee.
Isn't Sonny Bradley there? He's a black belt in some sort of martial arts, so it might end well for you after all.
Burnley made £3.1 million profit on Trippier, but have to give Man City 40% of that so we will only get roughly £1.8 million profit on Trippier who was our best player - doesn't look like good business but Tripps would NOT have signed a new deal last summer without the £3.5 million release clause - also the player was promised we would not stand in his way if we were relegated. Ings is a different kettle of fish because he is still only 22 and Liverpool will have to pay a fee or it goes to a tribunal. Spurs bid £12 million which was accepted, but Liverpool only wanted to pay £4 million which they later increased to £6 million after Spurs bid. Burnley have rejected the £6 million so it could go to a tribunal. Burnley say they want £8 million, so would probably settle for £7 million for Ings. Basically, Burnley will have £8/9 million for losing the duo....not great because they are both, especially Trippier, worth a lot more in the current inflated market, but that sum is better than a kick in the teeth when we could have lost Ings for next-to-nothing if he had joined Real Sociedad or Schalke..
I suspect you might be disappointed with the compensation fee you get for Ings. The current record is £3.5m, but that was for Sturridge, in a deal between two top four teams. I think Ings may well set a new record, but I doubt it will be as high as £7-8m. Blackpool wanted £8m for Ince, on the basis that Palace paid a seven figure fee for a half season loan, yet we ended up only having to pay £2m. Ings didn't even go through your academy, he was already 18 when you signed him. I'm sure you'll get a fairly hefty fee, but I'll be surprised if it's as high as £7-8m.
DONE DEAL: Tottenham Hotspur have signed Burnley defender Kieran Trippier on a five-year deal for £3.5m.
Agreed, Burnley should have taken the £6m offered. I also think they'll be left incredibly disappointed.
Norwich are set to sign Yussuf Mulumbu on a free transfer. That's a great signing, I was hoping we'd be able to nab him.
Derby have signed Chris Baird from WBA on a free. They are putting together a title winning squad in my opinion. They've made some really astute signings Alex Pearce, Scott Carson, Andreas Weimann, Darren Bent and Chris Baird.
Liverpool are going to try and make an 11th hour hijack for Firmino according to Sky Gossip. The deal seems more soft than Firmino!
Don't forget Tom Ince! He'll be a Derby player soon and they're also in for Matthew Lowton from Villa.
