Have signed cedric from sporting. Probably for a decent fee. I hate to say it but their club is being run exactly how i wish ours was being run. So much for the owners daughter taking over and destroying the club.... Get off your ass mike, not everyone is on a holiday.

I'd love to be a Southampton fan, Youth players coming through all the time, finding little gems of players and picking em up for 3,4,5 million, play great football, good manager, and they only sell their players for an obcene amount of money. They appoint all the right people in the right areas to get business conducted properly

Its litterally like what Mike Ashley is trying to do, but their owner actually has some common sense and more than half a brain!

Their owner actually knows who to appoint - i.e. not his mates. Koeman was a shrewd appointment. Their youth system is second to none.

Amen. We're just such a shoddy little crap-pot. I think we'll end up with a few foreigners Carr thinks are good and a few from the Championship McClaren thinks are good, all at a price Charnley thinks is good. In short, it's going to be another long season. Thankfully, I won't be watching.

There in lies the problem - Southampton buy players to improve the team. Not with a view to selling them two years down the line for a profit. They sign people to progress and if they get sold further down the line, so what? They'll re-invest the money all the while developing their kids. We on the other hand just sign people with a view to selling. No thought whatsoever goes into progressing the team or looking to the future. **** no. We have parasites like Graham Carr that were complete failures as managers dictating who we should sign. All the while you have bigger parasites like Lee 'godfather' Charnley making decisions that he isn't qualified to make.

Let me put this into perspective. In 2011/12, the season we finished 5th, Southampton were 2nd in the Championship. Whilst we should have pushed on, they were the ones showing ambition and as a result are now ahead of us. They are on a different planet in fact.

We're still awaiting McClaren's backroom team that was due Sunday/Monday.

The worrying similarity between McClaren, Pardew and Carver is none of the fckers ever had enough integrity to resign from any job they've fcked up. Schteve has seen this for exactly what it is - a well paid, cushy little number where the only rule is don't hang the morons above you out to dry. The fans can hate you, the football can be disgraceful, the results even worse and you can ring up people to bin them off. As long as you insist Mike's a tip-top geezer, job for life.

We're the North Korea of European football.

My main issue is that ashley is not only pulling money out of the club, he is using it for free advertising. Southampton, everton, and swansea are all running above us as a result. Dost will not work out. He can finish but we won't be giving him many opportunities. We need continued investment in good players.

As soon as I read that article I knew I would come here and find this thread. As per recent trend they are being decisive. We are not.

I think you'll find McClaren resigned from both Twente and Forest.
He tends to know when it's time to f*** off and cut his losses.
To say there are similarities with Pardew and Carver after a week in the job is just nonsense.

Most clubs in Europe, never mind the UK would like to have a set-up like that of Southampton.

    McClaren should be thankful.
A week long honeymoon period is far too long in this day and age.

Lol - who the feck is cedric soares?

Also, at the moment our fans are generally acting like bitches! We get told we have some money to spend but if we get linked to anyone who would cost less than £5M and all hell breaks loose!

My feelings are that we are after 2 strikers and have a joint fee in mind. And I am thinking that amount is £20M. Now we could get Austin and another Riviere type player or we are haggling to see if we can get Austin and a Dost type player. Both quaility or we get one quality and one hmmmm!

It started sinking forca few people last season but once we've lost the first 4 games which I'm certain of perhaps a few more will swallow the pill.

Excuse me? Who are you god? I'm entitled to my opinion and given I'm seemingly far more on the button than the rest of the ant swarm I feel you should actually listen rather than not like Hearing it and go on the attack.

You had us down for top half ha ha

Right, I am here to support the team. I don't give two hoots about MA/LC etc. If all you are going to do is bitch and moan like a woman on heat then go support another team.

Oh and it's God! I am God!

Oh and you're not on the button, you are someone who will complain no matter which way your piss goes in the wind!

Right, I get it, you only see the negatives and not the positives.

Come back once we are relegated!

For me, I want to support the team.

Also, if you are seeing it how it is then can you not at least give SM at least more than one week? Just let a little optimism flow into your bloodstream. Reignite that footballing passion. If at the end of the day and you are proven right then you will still be in the position you are now, Newcastle will be relegated and all well that ends well, yeah? Or maybe, just maybe SM gets some decent coaches, we sign a couple more decent players and we play some decent football and we finish above 15th, then what?
