That is really strange, as it's very uncommon for a player to move clubs after merely a season, unless he's had a total stinker of a season - but even then players like Balotelli won't always move. But in the case of Ospina where he's broken into the 1st team, played well and is at a big club, to then move to a much smaller league and team would be strange. Unless he's been told he's got no future at the club because Cech is signing - which is a ruthlessness we don't much see from Wenger.

Personally I'd keep Ospina and send Chesney out on loan

    http://metro.co.uk/2015/06/18/david...ting-arsenal-for-fenerbache-transfer-5251843/

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is on the verge of signing for Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey.

Ospina, who faces an uncertain future with the Gunners ahead of the arrival of Petr Cech, has been linked with a move away in recent weeks.

And now Turkish outlet HaberTurk say Fener are close to agreeing a £3.2million fee for Ospina, with the goalie set to sign a deal worth £1.5million-per-season.

Fener have made a top class goalie one of their transfer priorities this summer and have been linked with Iker Casillas.

Arsenal would have no use for Ospina if Cech arrives, with Wojciech Szczesny seen as the better No.2.

It is something Wenger has to do from now on, otherwise he'll be left with players that are good but not quite at the required standard he needs to challenge.

Agreed. I like Ospina but if this is true then it's what we've all been calling out for, an upgrade on a solid pro. It's ruthless but I'll always be happy to see us switching up the likes of an Ospina for a Cech*.

    * Assuming it actually pans out like this. Media nonsense etc etc etc.

Also assuming (and I really hope) that Cech is still as good as he was - he's been my fav goalkeeper in the prem since Schemichael, but has been on the top for quite awhile, and I didn't think he was quite his best the season before Courtois took over. But hopefully he's still the epic keeper he always was, and signs for us, and does great for years to come.

But like you say PeterRick, this could all be BS by the papers, and we might not even be looking at him.

If nothing else he seems a very likeable, classy guy (f*ck knows why he lasted at Chelsea so long) so that there are two things Chezzers could learn from him.

Its harder to leave when they were forcing him to stay. The fact that he hasn't signed a new contract and are desperately trying to stop him from joining Arsenal, should tell you everything you need to know. Had it not been our money woes, we would have had many more guys come to us over those chavs.

So if we whittle out the rumours of M'Vila, Higuain, Sterling, Messi, Bender, Draxler and every other unlikely player we are linked with, then the press would have us believe we'll sign Cech and Kondogbia, while getting rid of Ospina, Podolski, Jenks (on loan), Diaby (unless he's resigned on a pay as you play/get injured contract).

IF it's true then that's a pretty good summer tbf. Some of us would love to see a WC centre forward come in, but it'll be difficult as there's not many around, and will be difficult as it'll mean shifting out at least another player or two, and potentially upsetting the balance of the team.

IF we get those two transfers done soon, i would be very happy with that. Both are quality signings and add a lot to our team. It would then leave us good time to look for a CF.

I think the rumoured outgoings are good to, as it'll be great to get Podolski's wages off our books, and if we can, then it'll be a great deal to loan Jenks out to a Prem side for another season, giving him time to come back and challenge Bellerin for a starting RB spot. Also if we sign Cech as rumoured then we have to get rid of a GK, so if we can convince Ospina to go then it's impressive.

All we'd need to do then is get rid of Flamini and we should have reduced the wage bill while dramatically strengthening the side.

*note I'm still taking these rumours with a pinch of salt

Nooooooooooooooooooooo! I've just seen we've released Ryodinho!

Watched a lot of him during his early loan spells, enjoyed his pre-season cameos too. Hoped he'd be our player to sell shirts in the Asian market and be like Park was for Utd but since his knee injury he hasn't made the same progress and has struggled a bit in his last loan spell. He was quality at Feyenoord. He got great reviews at Bolton. Then at Wigan he got injured and didn't hit the same form for FC Twente.

He's very quick, very direct, delivers a good ball and has some trickery. Had hoped he would make it at Arsenal but given our wealth of attacking wide players knew it was probably a long shot. Him and Campbell are the two youth players over the last few years that I've wanted to see more of and it looks like both may end up moving on this window!

He had seemed to be on an upward trajectory but his injury held him back at a time where he really needed to be stepping up if he was going to get to the top. It's a shame for him that his career has taken a bit of a dip and it's rumoured he may sign for a German team in the second division. Surprised he didn't look for another move to holland given his success at Feyenoord, or to one of the other less physical leagues. But this German team does have a 30k seat stadium and I'm not sure on the wage differences.

Please don't tell me it's only the Sun and the Daily Mail which are saying he's signing while all the others are silent...
