Seems like a very minor reason to not want him back. Fair enough if you think he's a crap footballer. Personally I don't think he is and that he's a good fit for us. A bit like when Gallen was doing nothing at Port Vale and Huddersfield but improved us a fair bit.
Quite impressed you've managed to sneak in a dig at Taarabt. I challenge you to do it on every thread on the front page.
when we had him, he played with his heart on his sleeve. Maybe not the best technically - but he never stopped running. could be a useful addition
I don't think you can compare Gallen and Mackie. firstly Gallen was a better footballer and supported QPR so he would always try his best (not saying Mackie didn't). Plus for us Old gits who remember Gallen scoring v Scum at HQ you could never compare him on his return to the younger version but i can see what you are trying to say even though it's incorrect.
He was a better footballer but I don't think you can say Mackie puts in less effort than him or any other footballer I've seen for QPR. Seemed to have as genuine an affinity with the club and fans as those who were supporters too. On paper Gallen wasn't good enough at the time but he was a fit for QPR. I think Mackie would be too.
Watford if you are going to argue a point at least quote me correctly. I never said he didn't put in a good effort, i just said technically he wasn't that good and he wasn't. If you want to argue then argue with someone else. You cannot compare Gallen to Mackie.
Why not? My point was they're both guys who looked pretty average or worse elsewhere. Gallen came in and improved us which he shouldn't have done on paper. Not looking for an argument at all. A debate can be had if you like.
Really liked Jamie when he played for us & didn't think we should have sold him at the time, that said I think this would probably be a step back if we're looking to the future & putting a squad together capable of getting promotion & then the majority stepping up to play in the Prem as that's not his level.
I can see both sides here though I tend to agree with Ellers that although his work rate is fantastic and he will burst his lungs for the club, the actual end product was more lacking than not. Another factor is that he may not be the same as when last with us. Better? Worse? That's what the scouts are paid to find out. Can we get Buszacky back too please? Loved his song!!
Bringing back players for a second spell doesn't often work out well. Mackie provided us with some great moments (Liverpool winner and Man City goal) but I tend to agree with the folk who suggest we should move on. He's a short term signing and I'd rather us persevere and try and get the best out of Grego-Cox. We're long overdue a successful academy product.
I have a colleague who knows Mackie very well as he has recently done coaching for a your team. He is a Reading fan and they love him I will ask him because last time i talked to my mate he was super keen to join Reading. He also lives in Surrey and not keen on Forest anymore I would take him back no doubt as all same as Jnr but I believe we will have better players than Mackie in our team
Looks like this may actually happen. the majority on loftforwords are pro-Mackie while most here are anti. Don't really know what that says about users of either forum but I found it interesting.
On other forums it is looking likely. Have to say he was Readings player of the match in the semifinal. So not too shabby. He always played 110% with limited ability and we do need old heads of the right sort....I understand that he is still Forests player and Reading cannot afford him...but I also understand that Reading cannot afford halftime oranges either. We will see........but as far as I know he is not a CD......AND CHRIS...WE NEED DEFENDERS HAVE I NOT MENTIONED IT BEFORE
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...hip-agree-deal-Nottingham-Forest-striker.html Does look like it's happening....
We know football better than what they do innit. 30 in September, 64 goals in 388 professional appearances (including a fair few in the Conference), 6 goals in his last 66 games. As a striker.
