Surely it could be more about being loyal to the incumbent jockey Mulrennan. There's a distinct lack of loyalty in business and society these days and it's nice to know some owners/trainers in North Yorkshire still have some.
Limo scene? Have you gone a bit South asian on us?Time Test yesterday entered in next Thursday’s ‘Tercentenary’. How he fares, in that heat, will determine how the county set arrive at Ascot on the Friday. A win and it’s in a fleet of limoscenes. A defeat and it’s all of us crammed in a dented old minibus.
I cant stand all these American horse coming over, from a punting point of view you sit down with a fantastic card and then come up against this horse you know nothing about, whose form is incomparable to anything else in the race and you have to somehow form an opinion. I am sure it's a big success for Ascot with it's international flavour, but for me I'd rather they stayed across the pond.
I will do what I have done in past years, which is ignore them and just take it on the chin if one wins as I cannot back them blind or on US reputation.
Just had a quick look at it's form over sprint distances and it looks a bit ordinary, not one I will be giving any consideration to as it looks better over further.I wouldn't dismiss Wandjina out of hand either Robbie, he's a pretty decent animal.
Do you know that OBEs and MBEs were introduced by the Saxe-Coburgs during the latter part of World War I solely in an effort to make them more popular with the masses??? The Saxe-Coburg’s popularity was at almost an all-time low and these ‘honours’ were seen as a way of embracing the ‘ordinary members of the public’ if you like. An early form of P.R. it would appear. ‘Give them a shiny little medal and everyone turns a blind eye to us fleecing millions out of the Exchequer’ you can hear them saying even after all this time! Certainly worked as 100 years later they are still with us!.....
