I think he punched mancini so that is why he didn't play many! in the end he fell out rather than played well. we'd all love a rush. just play it to him and and he makes the runs and is lethal... or a fowler. I think most reds know a good un. Balotelli is nothing like it. if hes the big man and fires in a few frees and pos shots off from all sorts of places grand but he'll never run a channel...
I agree. We can only do so much and i certainly won't be predicting anything more than 5th next year so we have to do our best.
Not sure if already been posted. ------- 18:21 INTER BRACED FOR REDS BID Inter are waiting to receive what they believe will be the decisive offer from Liverpool for Mateo Kovacic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Reds are said to have already bid for the Croatian midfielder but have so far failed to meet the Italians' 25m euros valuation.
There is no rule that says players have to be over 21, there is simply a clause saying they don't have to be registered. They can be counted which was your original argument
Mario's best games have come when he played alongside Sturridge or Sterling in a front 2. It's no coincidence that our best attacking games (very few over the whole season) were when he was on the pitch. Off the top of my head, he changed the cup match with Palace when he came on. I don't even know why I'm defending Mario because I never wanted to sign him. But over the course of the season, he's so much criticism from the manager, the fans and the media. How the hell do you expect a young man (don't forget that he's only 24) to be able to play with his head up? He was even criticised for taking a penalty which won us a game ffs, which included critcism from the captain!! He is suffering from proceeding Suarez because LFC fans have this notion that every striker should be like Luis Suarez. Luis Suarez is unique player. And the fact he's called lazy is ridiculous - just because he doesn't run around like a headless chicken like Lallana doesn't mean he's lazy. The fact that Sturridge is actually one of the laziest players in the squad but evades criticism just shows that there is a lot of blind 'hatred' towards Mario. Play to his strengths, and if he fails, then fair enough. But you all want to talk about giving Ings a chance, how about giving Mario a chance by actually playing to his strengths and getting the best out of him. I just can't believe how Rodgers gets away with poor coaching.
Only in your mind! He's suffering because the club were stupid to buy him. Nothing more, nothing less.
Totally agree with this, initially I was excited about Mario but always worried he did not fit our style. Clearly we have decided not to give him a chance. I have noticed one thing about Mario in his career - and tbf I am not on the training ground but at all his clubs he tends to be popular with the team members, but not the managers. i wonder if he is a bit of a troublemaker, like the popular kid at school who makes jokes and cracks funnies but constantly undermines the teacher. Not nasty like, just a pain in the arse
Surely the same must be applied to a lad who hasn't kicked a ball for us yet then? No doubt he will ****ing flop with the arrogance of some of us because he came from Burnley
I'm not rooting for Ings to fail - as I've said, he's a nothing signing. I'm not happy nor am I angry. He is a 3rd/4th choice striker and he does not improve our first team. Anything he does at the club will be a bonus.
The point is English v foreign quota and you can see with adding two lads this last week we get to 10 english or hg so..... it's saying hey we are not badly off when more restrictive rules come in. If it were free for all I don't think wisdom would have been signed up but would be sold
I have read in this thread that people want to see a top marquee striker signed, but realistically who would that be? We see names like Vietto, Lacazette and Tevez but we know they are unlikely. So with that in mind who would we be happy with signing as or 'marquee' striker?
If anyone wants to know why I hate it when LFC shop from the domestic market, here's why: Over the past 5 years, we have spent; £50m to Soton £35m to Newcastle £26m to Sunderland £20m to Villa £15m to Swansea £8m to Blackpool That's £152m spent on mid table players at British mid table clubs.
This is the thing - this season, and Rodgers in particular has divided the fanbase. I think mores o than when Hodgson was in charge. Hope Rodgers can turn it around.
if he keeps failing to attract decent players yes. we had cl football to offer at one point and look what ****e we got ffs!
