I think the tribunal amount is based on compensation for development etc., i.e. it's cost based rather than a refelction of the player's worth, so any bids should be meaningless.

That said, the process appears to be a bit opaque so who knows what they may take into account.

Bit on sky sports apps about it saying also take into account any 'substantial interest' shown by clubs in signing him and reported interest could see the compensation amount rise.

  4. What is stopping a club offering £100m for Ings to bump it up even further? Its a ridiculous thing to include IMO

isnt that entering dangerous territory ie another club could up the bids and pretend they are interested in a player to stitch up other clubs and make them end up paying more for a player the rival bidding club never really wanted.

We'd pay at least £20m for one of those.

12 million for a player one month before his contract ends with no other bids is within reason?

  18. I assume this is a Gooner's opinion on our flop signings? Quite a few in there that weren't flops IMO.

<laugh> @ Arbeloa being in there!

Pennant was decent until he fell out with Rafa, he was on the verge of a England call-up but people only remember the latter part of his Liverpool career.

Robbie Keane was good for us too, Rafa was just being a stubborn ****er.

Insua cost next to nothing as a youngster and contributed to the first team.

Meireles was that poor Chelsea signed him <doh>

Ilori, Alberto, Moreno and Markovic were all signed as youngsters and are still at the club as youngsters <laugh>

    Lavezzi linked again.

I reckon Rodgers would prefer some one like Jovetic, Tevez or Lavezzi but the committee would prefer a muscle man like Benteke.
