With sturridge out until late autumn, who else will start for us? and for when Sturridge gets injured for another few months later in the season.
Can't see us signing a decent striker this summer:
    - FSG won't cough up
    - Ayre will fluff the negotiations
    - Player won't want to play for an EL club

and why when we have europa and a small quad would we loan him out..

you missed my remy comment on cheslea. they bought him for the short term and didn't care.

I simply don't get the WHINE about a guy like ings. like i said he'll be easily movable if we want to in 12 month or 2 years but he will be useful this year to us...

reality check to reds fans... once again. aspas, borini, balotelli, lambert... vote now for which of this muck you want over ings.. come on lets be having you <laugh> You'd swear we had better.

Decent signing. Happy with that. A prem striker who is 22, home grown, scored double figures for a struggling team and offers more than all our strikers combined bat Sturridge for a few of around 4/5m is pretty good.

people saying he won't be a first team regular but the guy is 22, he's still young! Give him 2 years and there's no reason he can't be leading the line... Sturridge at 22 wasnt much either but look at him last year...

give the the guy a chance and don't write him off. I'd rather he spend little on a decent 3rd choice striker with origi 4th choice and then spend big money on a first teamed than spend 10m on 2 average players like borini/balotelli

We have to wait for all the incoming/outgoing business to be completed (of which there will be plenty) before we consider where we are.

Also Studge may be back sooner rather than later.

I prefer to get the hysteria and anger out of the way early on, that way I'm calm and collect by the end of the window when you guys are all blowing up over us only signing Ings, Milner and...Williams.

throwing in williams is just being morose.

    arguments against Ings:

    1. another borini?

First off every on player should be jduged on his own merits, second he's done ok in the prem in a struggling side that were worst than sunderland. third he can be sold on as well

    2. no intent?

Why blame the player for the timing of his arrival... thats just nuts. LFC singings or otherwise are out of the guys hands. all he can do is try his best ofr us when donning the shirt.

    3. need a top player now?

Ings scored a few... he is obviously not suarez.. its not his fault he's 22 and played for bournemouth and then burnley and will got half nothing. all he can do is come in and compete for a shirt. LFc need to shift on the others before we can bring in a top striker..

    arguments for ings

    1. Bargain price. represents excellent value

Why? prob average prem wages and a low fee. easily shiftable from there. even if we loan him out for a year and haul in a mil or whatever as a fee we will get good value.

    2. English quota

Just added an english bod to the squad. if the 13 foreign limit comes in this will look even better business

    3. young player with some potential

he is after all in england u21 team. berahino and kane could not expect much more. why on earth when others are lauded is ings knocked. If he's not good enough to play first team at the top end he is at least a genuine option up front.

Ings and Origi is better than Borini and Lambert, so can't complain - and we could potentially make a profit.

Ings as a player - meh, he's a nothing signing who really who won't add much. Brave move because he's young and will be a 4th choice striker.

I suppose he's British, young and we could make a profit on him in the future.

Quite sad that we're here trying to justify underwhelming signings are good enough for the club.

Like Lambert last season - no problem if this is a riskless addition: really concerned if Milner and Ings is going to be the way of the future policy.

You get that with every signings. People were questioning Sturridge and courinho and can, while some were pleased with Moreno and balotelli... No one knows how a signing can go.

I think we'll all be disappointed if we start the season with ings as number 1 with Sturridge out injured but id rather have ings coming off the bench than Lambert borini or balotelli put it that way. Just need to try and shift those 3 to make room for a big name striker

It's funny people moan Rodgers shouldn't be trusted with money after last year,... Then moan when he makes 2 astute free signings as well <laugh>

such concerns should be directed at FSG not at the players though. the strategy last season was buy southampton and put them all behind SAS. that wnet out the window and a total failure ensued

This year thus far we are looking at changes in coaching staff at minimum and these two VERY long time coming deals being completed.

I don't personally know what to conclude out of 2 guys we knew in january were likely to arrive but the coaches being sacked. Rodgers seems safe so someone has decided on these two players.

Both improve us as we have to get real.

    Jones
    Johnson Toure Lovern Enrique
    Allen lallana gerrard
    balotelli lambert borini

    nice 433 yeah?

the only bad thing lfc have done is resign toure

I agree - from a FFP perspective, it could have financial benefits.

Sell Borini for say £10m, buy Ings in for £5m, then sell him for £10m when he inevitably flops.

Think we'd get 6-7m max to be honest. Would love us to get £10m for him but I honestly can't see that happening.
