On the subject of IQ - I got around to watching 'The Imitation Game' last weekend - based loosely on the work of Alan Turing - cracking the Enigma code at Bletchley Park during WWII.

Now that fellow was a true genius - portrayed in the film as a bit of a loner, but one step ahead when it came to working out cyphers and strategies.

OK, I haven't done the test as yet but just looking at the scale of scores, I've noticed that not everybody is catered for.
No doubt there will be a number of persons from particular zones, counties, etc who fall below the '70-79' scale.

I'd go so far as to indicate a possible minus number may be appropriate.

In fairness I did say at a party, at which I can assure you that in this present moment in time I'm not. I'm at work and it's pretty quiet tonight so inane threads like this one are slightly better than discussing a 33 year old out of contract Bury striker being possibly linked to QPR because of a rather tenuous link created by a wannabe 17 yr old journalist in his bedroom. Anyway, you could start a thread on Catalytic Converters on this board and you'd be guaranteed 30+ replies. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Having taken a MENSA test about 25 years ago, I know this test is bollox. For a start a proper IQ test is timed.

Absolutely right. It's all about the ads in the hope you will hit on there by mistake! Perhaps also a measure of IQ?
141 for me but I've occasionally looked at a Mensa one (just for fun, never a serious attempt since I know my place in the range of intelligence without needing a test) and do frighteningly badly!!

Turing was portrayed as borderline autistic Sku, very limited ability to relate to other people. I have no idea whether this was true, but it was a good film. Not as good as "What we do in the Shadows" though, a documentary about vampires living in Wellington, New Zealand.

This particular test is obviously weighted to give high scores. Even Marine Boy was just above average.
