Statements in your link make it clear that public funding was being requested for the Pats one. The article was published before any decisions were made, which is obvious once you read it
I mean it's actually titled

which would inform even the below average reader that no decision has been made at that time
The article was picked simply because Dan asked for some evidence that complaints from Orangemen were involved in any decision
It may or may not have sufficed, but Dan then changed the subject to something about private and publicly financed events which I have no interest in arguing about
