Some impressive Prem starts but typical Jose... he gives the boy a blast a la Haza November 2013 and April 2014! Could it be a good sign? Jose sometimes rinses players he rates in public http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation....ourinho-ruben-loftus-cheek-sydney-fc-friendly Post all your RLS thoughts here..
TV commentators announced RLC was injured in the warm up and wouldn't play, so maybe that's an excuse. He did look off the pace, so Jose might just be at it again. None of the kids went brilliantly, though none went terribly either. Hard to impress in friendlies with so many changes, but the class of Chelsea was there for all to see. Terry Antonis, the 22 year old Sydney midfielder looked well capable of PL standard, and Matic was immense for Chelsea, what a player.
Having won the FA Youth Cup two seasons running, have you finally found a group of players who could gradually be immersed into the first team in the next 12/24 months? Sometimes when clubs win this trophy their players end up with Championship and League 1 clubs (re Emmanuel Thomas once of Arsenal)
Liklihood is most won't make it. If 1 or 2 become sqyad members thats progress. And goox news by any clubs standards. For some reason chelsea are beaten over the head with not producing world class talent-when nobody else is either.
Not true. You are criticised for producing nothing. Too many at Chelsea are afraid of the risks involved in using youth players. The faux use this season was cringeworthy though it was driven by sky. The fact is, Jose isn't fussed about youth players and isn't interested in the work required. Same applies tp every manager you have had on a decade.
WTF has it got to do with other clubs anyway. Why the interest in our youth system? I don't give a flying f**k about other club's youth systems so butt out of ours.
Good youth players at any club potentially have an impact on the future of the National team. And lets be honest here, as a chelsea fan, you have no interest in youth players at all. You don't even know what they are.
Well UiR. If Chelsea are not interested in using their youth players, perhaps United are. Get LVG to have a look and he might get a bargain. As for my own club, Southampton I think we could do worse than take 1 or 2 on loan from Chelsea as recent loanees and signings have been pretty good, Jack Cork now with Swansea, and of course Ryan Bertrand.
We have plenty. More than everyone else too. We give youth a chance. Always have. Around 4000 games where a product/member of the United academy has featured in the first team squad. On only one of those occasions did a player not feature in the 11 but academy products were on the bench. Our record and history with youth is amongst the best in football and not up for debate. Others are playing catch up.
Have you any youth currently around the 6' 8'' tall mark to fit in with LVG's complicated tactic of 'launch the fcucker '? Long ball Louis .........genius!
Long balls scare you don't they? What, with them being a form of attack Anyway, Jose seems like hes given up on the career of Loftus Road according to reports. Will any youngsters ever get a real chance?
They will. The subject has now been taken out of Joses' hands and management have decided that we must start to bring Academy kids into the 1st Squad, maybe as a direct result of FFP. In any event, we will see it happen, and not before time. That said, how many really good ones have come through Utd since the Scholes/Giggs era? Arsenal have Wilshire, who already looks a bone head liability, headed down the Jody Morris path of bad behaviour. I do understand that winning titles and bringing on kids is a bit of an oxymoron. Still think the FA need a rule to say that all teams must play say 3 different kids in a full match, for a total of say 6 games a season. That way 3 kids would get 2 games each, or 6 kids 1 game each per say. Won't happen I know, but until it does, kids will be seen less and less overall. My guess is Chelsea will play 2 kids more often next season. A prize goes to whoever can nominate them.
Depends what you call really good, if you look around the premier league you will find a fair few United products.
Of course they do mate, I'm petrified of long ball Louis. If was just 2'' taller I think you'd have closed the gap to maybe 15 points as opposed to the massive 17 points our CHAMPIONS finished above you.
.......... and there we have it - possession. Thanks Diego, you start my day with a big smile. 'Just like a team, that's gonna win the possession cup, long ball Lois shall not be moved'.
Jose was spot on imo, and it didn't do Hazard any harm whatsoever when similar comments were made about him.
