Quick question really anyone know why we never have any home friendlies?

It would be a decent way to make a bit of money as people have been starved of football for too long and would give people who dont normally get to games due to cost a chance to see the lads at a cut price.

The mags as an example always have a couple against reasonably high profile teams across europe so when these guys are up here why dont we take advantage. We could team up with them (I know how wrong that sounds) to get these teams up here and even have a bit of local rivalry over the results of these games.

Surely this would raise the profile of the club across europe and who knows we could even get one of these games televised which would give us a bit extra cash.

Is it not something to do with preserving the pitch?

As we move upwards, it would be nice to host one of those tournaments with the likes of Milan or Ajax.

Not sure a couple of games in July would knack the grass that much bobby but, then again I'm no grass expert (the green walking on kind).
With the OP on this one a couple of games against a couple of decent teams from Europe would raise our profile.

Or, say, Korea?

Got their lad, give him 90 mins (and, for that matter, Whickam) against his old team.....

Might even let them win!

3-4 mind. Last min penalty or an og from 20 yards!

I'm sure we did do home friendlies but they didn't make the club any money or lost the club money and that's why we don't have them. The last home friendly I remember was Ajax when we moved to the SOL. Plus I think the big teams expect a fee? Certainly costs covering expenses.

That sounds more like it tony all down to the green folding stuff and not the green growing stuff.

We played Juve in a psf a few years ago.

Took the bairn, still got the scarf.

No. It was us! It was our away strip! They were skint and had to play us, We gave them their strip!

Lovely!

Don't forget, they also play on some council ground................

Scum on the bottom of SAFC's shoe.
