Vidal would be an immense signing. Not sold on Martinez, he could well have his best years behind him and the premier league fast paced and physical. Personally I don't think we're going to buy a striker. I think Wenger will look at Welbeck, Giroud and Walcott and as long as they all stay fit, then they can get us the goals we need. DM is a massive position for us though and I think we'll do it this summer. I'd be happy with either Vidal or Schniederlin
Rumours of a possible departure of Monreal?http://as.com/diarioas/2015/05/29/english/1432898018_223859.html According to story is his contract is up for renewal in 2016 and we aren't up for renewing. Athletico Bilbao sniffing around...
That's just complete crazy talk. Vidals proved to be arguably the best player in Italy. (him or the ageing Pirlo) He is a proven winner at the highest level. Schneiderlins never even played at the Top level.
To be honest, if he has the same kind of engine as Sanchez, then i'd love Vidal to come in. I love the effort and tenacity that Sanchez brings to our team, its one of the things that we've missed. As far as I know, Vidal plays like a beast and would complement our classy skillful midfield. IF he can't come then of course Schneiderlins would be welcome
Ok the Vidal rumour was shot down by Wenger so no Vidal to Arsenal... http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/tran...will-be-at-arsenal-next-season-but-vidal-wont "The Frenchman - who with his side's triumph became the joint most successful manager in FA Cup history - also responded to speculation about Chile international Vidal after the game. “Arturo Vidal? You [the journalist] must be from Chile!" he added. "We have good midfielders and at the moment we are not looking at Arturo Vidal."
Hope so, but usually when he's not after someone he just says it and when he is, he gives a wry smile. I could be wrong, hopefully.
Either way, I guess those reports that he'd already signed for us, and it was going to be announced after the Copa were a little wrong...
Those Vidal rumours are utter bollocks, does not come from a decent source. Jermey Wilson is a very good source and according to him schneiderlin is a target for us.
Can't see it, Vidal is 28 and would cost a lot of money and he is way too similar to Ramsey, a player Wenger has put in a lot of time developing. Then there is also Jack Wilshere, who is also another player Wenger rates and has spent ages developing. I just can't see Wenger blocking the development of those two, because if we signed Vidal then he starts every game at CM.
You bring up an excellent point. We need a DM/cover for Coqs, having a player similar to the likes of Ramsey is unnecessary. Ramsey is taking his performances to another level now and I see him having a very good upcoming season, baring injuries. Wilshere also has plenty to prove and can only get better coming back from him injury. Main issue is him doing dumb things...
