He's won the league in 3 different countries, as well as winning the European Cup 3x.

He's world class.

Hes good and his cup record is great. Hes always been lacking though in leagues. 3 isnt great considering he always managed the richest side in the land.

Not bashing him, was originally just wondering of anyone corrected the OP.

Utd are without doubt the richest club in this country y/n?

The answer is yes, so based on your view Utd should win the title every year because they're the richest?

Nah, the manager and players play the pivitol roll, money wasn't enough to buy Utd title success in the last two seasons.

In our own money terms, yes.

In reality we are 3rd.

<ok>

That argument means nothing UIR, present day Utd was built on loans and bought with debt, it has many business partnerships that help to make the coffers full, City and Chelsea are entitled to reach the top by using loans and/or debt and partnerships as long as the stay within the guidelines.

If you want to use that argument Utd are 4th richest due to their being money in their boardroom than Utd's

Man Utd's 4-5?, are you talking about the whole Celtic team or the 4(wee Jimmy jinky johnstone, Billy McNeil, Stevie Chalmers and Bobby Lennox came through the ranks at Parkhead?), how many Bayern and Ajax player's?

Hey Page!! You have an admiration for Celtic as well. I was referring to the fact that their 67 team all came from within 30 miles of Glasgow!! Thank you for pointing out to me those that came through their system.

Hail hail mate.

Always had a soft spot for the hoops, Big Jock never got knighted for being the first British manager to bring the big cup back to these shores.<grr>

Hey Page!! Were you impressed by Sevilla last night? I loved the way they chisel open a defence down their right!! Loved their all red kit as well. Reminded me of great team from the past (70s-90s) who always play in all red. Brendan could do with attending a few of their training sessions in order learn how to get the best out of players who are not superstars.

They are a great advertisement for the competition and by winning it they are now in seasons Champions League and good luck to them.<ok>

ac milan v juve... Real v barca (and add atletco one year) sure ancelotti didn't win enough titles and it was all down to him being crap... sure...

by this logic mr van gaal must be a **** manager and all.. bayern, barca, ajax all dominant teams

Who said he was crap?

And lvg dominated with Ajax, took bayern back to the top and did pretty well domestically with Barcelona so as is so often the case, your point is pointless.

I prefer league winners over cup winners. League winner are, in my opinion, superior managers. It takes an awful lot more to win titles than to win knock out tournaments.

You've probably forgot what a league winners is <whistle>

We actually won 4 of our 5 big cups as "league winners", you've probably forgot that you only one big cup as "league winners".<whistle>

Nobody can better Nottm Forest's record when looking at it like that. Only ever won the league once but managed to win the European Cup twice despite competing when only winners got in it.
