Actually I watch The Sopranos over and over, love the thing, and when I saw a group of photos on the news of FIFA suspects it had an almighty ring of Cosa Nostra to it, you could have put each and every one of the photos into a Mafiosa line up and none of them would have raised an eyebrow.

    Corrupt bastards!

Have an uneasy feeling that the one we all want to see lock up is going to wiggle out of this pile of ****.

Is it wrong that I am loving that it's a woman that is going to bring FIFA to its knees?

I can't see it. If his deputies are going down. they will sell him down the river for a reduced sentence of that I'm sure.

He can try and play ignorant he wants but he won't get away with it.

If they are offered reduced sentences I can't see any reason why the wouldn't. In fact they will be falling over themselves to get the deal first.

One thing is certain. Now that the US have lifted the lid and shown how damaged FIFA is you watch the federations all start to drift away from Blatter. The AFC may be standing with him now but that won't last when it becomes clear that he is damaged goods and is untenable. I just hope UEFA have the balls to stick 2 fingers up to the vote on Friday as the cat will certainly be amongst the pigeons then.

I've a horrible feeling that utter **** Blatter is going to get away with this, is going to be revoted in tomorrow and that Russia and Qatar will still have world cups. I really hope i'm wrong.

Loretta Lynch, US Attorney General, shot to world fame yesterday with her damning denouncement of corruption in FIFA. Considering she has only held the post for a few days, it was a bravura performance.

However, she has been working on this case for a number of years - probably since the announcement of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup venues. She was around when the FBI busted "Chuck" Blazer, the American FIFA member, for tax evasion and he subsequently became a co-operative witness.

FIFA also shot themselves in the foot. They hired Michael Garcia, a former US Attorney, to investigate claims of bribery and corruption within the Federation. Mr Garcia duly obliged - and FIFA promptly suppressed his report. The likelihood is that this report may now be in the hands of the US Attorney General.

Yesterday was probably only the tip of the iceberg but the 27th May, 2015, will become known as a turning point when football started the painful process of cleaning itself up.

So, Loretta Lynch, you are my football heroine of the century. Thank you.

Not a chance, FIFA's about to get ripped apart, this is just the start. Great entertainment for the close season.

They're saying he was a shoe-in to be voted in tomorrow but now it's not as clear.

And the moral of the story is...don't do dodgy deals in US$ or else the FBI will come down on you like a ton of bricks...

Apparently the US are claiming justiction due to the US television market including the billions paid by US networks are the biggest TV deals in the world, therefore any decision affecting those markets are fair game.

No hiding if that is true I think.

    Power corrupts.

The President of FIFA (or whatever governing body comes out of the mess) needs to be a fixed term position so this never happens again.

However, having a clear out at FIFA won't matter a jot unless the National Football Associations around the world are morally cleansed as well.
    Which ain't gonna happen...
