**** knows. But it's 40 appearances per season on average, so hardly wasting his career away sat on the bench or the stiffs is it?
Massive difference between starting and coming off the bench though. For example, you quote 40 appearances a season, but 38 could have been coming off the bench? Would be interested to see number of minutes he's played. Just to clarify, Milner is a good option to have in the squad ONLY when he has quality players around him. We're looking at bringing him in to be the starting midfield maestro
Yeah sure, if you were the Champions like. But you're not. Barca left Iniesta and Xavi on the bench plenty of times this season - because they could....... Milner would be a starter at virtually every club in the League barring Chelsea. btw he started 26 league games for City this season and came off the bench 6 times http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jame...er/3333/saison/2014/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/281 #fackhts
Because my dear dear fellow... he's not going to be for rotating... in case you've missed it he's got allen, henderson and can to compelte with.. and maybe lucas. I'm sorry if you've missed this but those 4... jeez louise!!! I'm hoping to see Henderson Can Milner as first choice all next year.... why? cos i've given up on FSG and know we won't go buy ANY of the real CMS we've been linked to. Stop hoping for miracles.
Pretty good actually - shame City finished 8 points behind the champions this season. I'm guessing the stars of the team let Milner down ...
Are you pissed up today? lol It's YOU'RE OPINION that he'll be a squad player. I think he'd be a first team player and I can't see him leaving Man City to join us if that wasn't to be the case.
yes.. yes yaya did... a whole 8 points off first and you are whining. kompany was god awful according to most.. yet the next excuse is milner is why city were so bad i suppose...
Says here that he's made 32 appearances this season of which 14 were from the subs bench: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/players/profile.career-history.html/james-milner Not sure about across competitions.
I maybe looking at this incorrectly but the link you provided says he made 32 appearances, not starts.
So City not winning the league is Milner's fault? btw the City fans were chanting his name and singing for him to stay at their last game on Sunday. ....but he's not good enough for Liverpools first XI like......
So we can't afford to buy the best players and any players that aren't from the champions aren't good enough for us. We'll just have to stick with the overseas gambles on potential youngsters or stars of **** leagues then! Jesus, there is seriously no winning for you Jimmy. Only way you would ever be happy is if we managed to get world squad together on the budget of Fulham FC whilst failing the HG requirements
Not at all. We should be looking at players from bigger clubs who struggle. Coutinho, Sturridge and Sakho are great examples. They have 2 things in common - 1) they were young and have potential and 2) they have real quality. Why don't we just sign the likes of O'Shea and Wes Brown if you're that hung up on experience.
Jimmy is having a mare. Very few teams ever have world class players across the park. In fact if Liverpool ever managed to do so, we'd have the other big boys selecting all and we are back to square one. We had one world class player and couldn't even keep hold of the annoyingly brilliant biting tw@t. We can try and have 4 quality players across all positions i.e. ST,MF,DF and GK and ensure they are supported by above average to good players. Milner is a brilliant player who gives 100% in all games scores a few and is brilliant in combination play. If you cannot see that Jimmy there is a problem with your logic. If you want to see how good Milner is as an option, see his impact in the game against City last season. Plus he can take a mean freekick so no more Hendo trying to look like Cristiano but ending up looking like Bentley.
