It's not our money so we shouldn't worry. Plus £100k is cheap so we should be happy paying this for many years. <ok>

Well we could do a Palace and have Rooney up top with 3 wingers behind him, any of Di Maria, Depay, Young, and Sterling, with Shaw and Clyne <whistle> bombing forward. help yourself to some of these instead.

Outs: Amos, Johnstone,Lindegaard, Rafael?, Evans, Blackett (loan), Cleverley, Powell?, Henriquez?, Nani?, Hernandez?, RVP?

  3. Finally!!! <whistle>

Seriously though, are any of those four wrong?

  4. Of we're stupid enough to offer a five year contract, yes. Three or four years wouldn't be a problem though IMO, Milner will be a quality player well into his thirties because is main attributes are not ones that deteriorate with age.

Agreed. I used to associate Milner with being a workhorse who runs around with endless energy, which is obviously physique based, and I would have feared this would been in decline.

But he relies on his intelligence, vision and his wand like right foot which, as you say, won't deteriorate. <ok>

  6. Would you like me to pick that dummy up for you Jimmy...? <laugh>

He doesn't rely on pace or acceleration which are two key areas that clearly deteriorate. Energy levels and physicality can be maintained of you work hard at maintaining them. With hard work being one of milkers best attributes, I don't see that being a problem

I agree with you - it's why Milner is known for his ability on the ball than off it. He's certainly better than Allen and Henderson in that respect.

My only concern is that it could hamper Can's development. Not sure how he gets into the team ahead of Hendo and Milner. <ok>

greez is right again.... this reticence is simply part of the grand delusion. LFC are NOT that good, have not been that good for quite some time and frankly while we splurge cash about and get sold pups about history and get our rings licked by rodgers about how world class we are we just seem to not want to see the turth.

Sure i'd only put milner on MAX 3 years if not less but FFS wake up 100k is not a lot of prem wage these days when a top 4 player can expect 150-200k per week.

I'd point again to others at even smaller clubs on 80/90k and thats where we were 4 years ago. the moneys growing and growing in the game and as i have called it the diarrhoea league every **** player is on huge money.

Agreed - we should re-invest a lot of the £'s saved from massive contracts given out years ago when we had CL (Cole, Maxi, Jovanovic, Vornonin) back into more massive contracts. <ok>

    exactly.

just use common sense when picking cos the list you just wrtoe would never occur at a club with an ounce of common sense.

Look at the wages of some of our best players:

Sakho, Coutinho, Can, Sterling (currently) - all are on under £75k.

Your idea of that we HAVE to offer increased wages due to inflation may suit you but I'm not comfortable with just handing out large contracts to just anyone. <ok>

  14. Why didn't we sign the likes of Henry Ryan, Costa, Willian, Salah, and even Sigurdson...? Don't say because CL clubs came knocking, if we'd not pissed about being cheap skates they'd have signed well before they got anywhere near.

Because we targeted them when we had no CL, finished 6th or 7th, and have a manager who is unknown in Europe. And the CL clubs were sniffing around. That's how it works, it's how agents work. They try to get the best deal.

With the exception of Sigurdsson, the rest ended up at CL's clubs and/or working under better managers.

Don't get me wrong, I do think we need to be more flexible when offering deals.

But Willian had the chance to join Chelsea (can't remember who the manager was, maybe Ancelotti?) and play in CL.

Henri had the chance to play for Dortmund under Klopp and in the CL.

So in essence, these players were given more money to play for better teams and in the CL. Can't blame them really.

Just to add, I don't think Dortmund offered larger wages. With the exception of Bayern, the Bundesliga don't pay much in wages.

Khedira to join Juventus on a free.

Say what you want about Italian's being cheapskates, but they have assembled a very good team on a low budget. <ok>
