Nope, he wanted to leave and we allowed him to. He was brilliant for us and I thank him for that, but now I don't really mind what happens in his career.

How any saints fan can't care about Rickie is beyond my over sentimental heart:emoticon-0105-wink:

I actually think Man City could do with Morgan. Fernandinho is ok, but that Fernando is pretty average

Rickie is not just a player who spent some time with the club and then moved on. He's a legend of Southampton and will stay that forever, regardless of where he goes. He might be a Liverpool play, an Aston Villa player, but he's a Southampton legend.

Site here says we're after the Reading goalkeeper Federici. Can't say i remember much about him. Anyone have any thoughts?

Apart from his howler in the semi-final at Wembley against Arsenal, he's ok. He has had premier league experience and is a capable keeper. If we went that route, I'd suggest that we're not really setting our sights too high, but he would be ok.

I would be hoping for someone a little better if possible.

Who would you think is a better choice? I've been spouting Heaton on here for some time but we've also been linked with Szczesny on loan which would be alright, except I think we should be looking further than a loan.

That Argentinian goalkeeper that played at the World cup, Romero, is out of contract this summer. Stekelenburg is second choice for Monaco, he might not be a bad option.

Though my preferred option is Lovre Kalinić, croatian keeper playing for Hajduk Split. Hugely talented keeper, currently second choice for our national team, could be available for as little as 2M euros.

I'm not sure. I'm happy with a loan to cover Fraser. If Ron thinks Paulo is improving enough, then he can be back up while a decent keeper comes in and I don't mind if that is loan or permanent. If Ron isn't impressed with Paulo's development then we need 2 keepers. One loan and one permanent.

[HASHTAG]#Feyenoord[/HASHTAG] have set the asking price for Jordy Clasie on £12.7m.

Not one club has officially made an bid for Clasie, but it's expected that [HASHTAG]#Southampton[/HASHTAG] will be in pole position IF they sell Schneiderlin.

Would snap their hand off for that. He's basically Morgan but for half the price (if the 25m quoted is accurate.)

Sounds right. Do we know for sure if SKD is retiring now or is it unknown still?

Federici is free, has premiership experience, was Reading's player of the season this season, still has a good few seasons left in him and, you would suspect, would be happy battling it our with FF once back (or even being a long term dependable number 2). He ticks a lot of boxes for me about what we want in our current situation.

Schneiderlin would get into City, United and Arsenal's midfield and they should all be looking at him as an option. I'd even go as far as saying he'd get in Chelsea's lineup - if they moved Fabregas forward. I think Chelsea and City will both be looking for a bigger name, but unless Arsenal and United do the same then I can't see them missing their chance on a player like Morgan. Still, let's hope Arsenal stick with Coquelin with Ramsey, Cazorla and Wilshere capable of playing there, and United try and go for someone like Pogba.

Didn't he also lose his Prem starting place to McCarthy mid-season, though? McCarthy is the most rated of the two.
