    this.
this bloke could be worshiped as a hero if he used his loaf. he has the money to compete with Chelsea and the 2 Manchester clubs and put our club and his company on the world map. it beggars belief why he chooses not to.
when he first arrived he said he wanted to make us one of the top 3 or 4 clubs in Europe. the fans turned on him after the keegan debacle and he's thought f**k you lot ever since. he treats the fans like his sports direct customers by making loads of money turning out tat!

Like I said, the time between now and kick off next season will show us just exactly whether or not that was all just smoke and mirrors for whatever reason - season ticket sales most likely. I think most fans who are in two minds as to whether or not to renew will hold off and the drop,in uptake will most likely see the club extend the deadline for season ticket purchase anyway.

For me, yes he confirmed that it's penfold who is responsible for footballing matters (i.e manager selection), but all that's done is confirm who's ****ed up previously.....and he did say that ultimately the buck stops with at his door. I don't see that as being nailed on that penfold will still be there past the summer, or that someone else isn't brought in to handle that side of things and leave penfold to do what he's best at (sucking mikes hairy plums).

There comes a point where you have to protect your own interests and get your hands dirty. I think the magnitude of yesterday's game, coupled with the outpouring of public discontent towards the people he has put in place etc was the turning point for him. I think yesterday's game and the level of support and noise in the stadium has perhaps shown him how things could and should be week in week out.

Actions speak louder than words and money talks.... This will be a very interesting summer I feel !

From what I have read elsewhere Ashley rules his boardrooms with an iron fist. SD is virtually a dictatorship and it has been commented on many times in the business press that he has far far too much influence at Board level. So if anybody thinks that he lets Penfold merrily steer the good ship NUFC all by himself, they are way off. He said in his Sky interview that the Board took care of footballing matters. As far as I am aware the Board is Ashley, Penfold and the guy that's ****ing off to play with the planes. Make no mistake, it is Ashley that rules the roost and him that has the final say in almost all matters. The fact is he has come out today to blame other people and try and make it look like he is swooping in to save the day. Complete bollocks, in my opinion. I think the bloke has a little bit more vanity than we gave him credit for and as soon as the **** is heading in his direction he does not like it one bit. I didn't see him waddling in front of Sky and that **** licker David Craig when 'Pards' or Carver were engulfed in a **** storm.

It is crystal clear that Penfold is so far out of his depth that he cant even see the bottom of the pool, let alone hope to ever stand up in it. So if Ashley has learnt from past mistakes his first act should be to demote Penfold back to tea and biscuits duties............. but he wont. Then he should ship out Carver, Stone and all of the other dead wood in the coaching set up............ but he wont. Then he should scour the footballing globe for a credible manager that can actually shoot for the Champions League spot that we are apparently now going for............ but he wont. At best we will get a bloke that Derby don't want and that told us to **** off 3 weeks ago. What we will get is more of the same durge that we have had for the past 7 years. This is the guy that employed Joe Kinnear, not once but twice. His man, not Lambeezies or the Board, Ashleys appointment.

I know that people desperately WANT to believe in what he is saying, I do too. But its all just a desperate act from a bloke that doesn't like to be called names and doesn't like to not get his own way. Until Penfold, Carver, etc, etc are heading out over the Tyne Bridge and Klopp, Ronaldo and Messi are heading in the other direction it is all wind and piss from the fat man. I mean.............. ****ing Champions League............ talk about deluded!!!!

Sadly, I would say this is bang on. Time will tell, but Carver and Charnley should already be sacked, but of course they aren't.

Can't say I believe or trust him from past experience.
Words are just words, unless they turn into actions, so time will tell in the coming months.
A positive start would be this week, confirming Carver wont be Manager/Coach/Bog Cleaner next season.

As for the interview, for a man, where silence and privacy is pivotal, I'm surprised he agreed to it, he didn't have too.
He could have kept silent and said **** all.
So FFS stop whining that he has spoken.

If he is true to his word, then we can expect a massive summer. If this a change in policy whereby we are now looking to compete then it bodes well.

The first job of Ashley is to appoint a manager that inspires belief and ambition. Look he talk all the claptrap about Charnley and the rest deciding who comes in but we all know the buck stops with him.

My concern is that the interview was clearly stage managed with that deviant David Craig (links with Keith Bishop) doing the interview. Some of the questions, that one of 'Where would the club be now if YOU hadn't bought them' stunk of appeasement. Even Darren Fletcher (commentator) commented on that it was too easy for Ashley, comfortable with another member of the 'old boy's' network.

You see we have been here before. It was clear he lied to Keegan about funds, players, ambition, etc because Keegan would never have come unless he thought he could accomplish some unfinished business. With Ashley speaking and us winning, there is now a feel good factor and, if he was true to his word and appointed a proper manager, there would be a willingness from most fans to get on side or at least some form of neutrality. If he gives the job to Carver, that's it and he it doesn't matter if he spends 70 million - the apathy would still be there in force.

To Carver, if you ever loved the club, just step aside. You're not good enough. All this 'I still want the job' is just embarrassing. Look, most of us have sadly resigned ourselves to the fact that you will be staying in a backroom capacity but as manager? Just **** off and die. No one wants that. This is the brush with death that makes you re-evaluate life. Don't make the same mistake twice you ****ing ignoramus.

Carver should definitely step aside. Absolutely 100% agreed. If he doesn't he will find he gets all kinds of grief.

Talk is cheap. Very cheap in fact. It pays well though if people decide to believe you. To the tune of many season ticket renewals. To be fair to him, he has been terrifically ambiguous. He only said he was staying until we won something. He didn't say when it would be <laugh>

I hope he does invest and start righting the wrongs. I just don't think there is any evidence to suggest he will.

Also we must be fair to Ashley, he was clearly three sheets to the wind at the time.

He probably woke up this morning and one of his minions said "The press want you to do another interview to follow on from yesterdays".

"What ****ing interview? That bastard Kinnear and his Kestrel Super Strength"

Mike Ashley says "I give the money". He provides that to Lee Charnley, who proceeds to fck everything up through inactivity, indecision and bad judgements. I have no doubt the money is there, but Lee Charnley has done some fairly flaky things last Summer, then this January decided to do nothing with both our profits and our manager.

The result? Lee Charnley is STILL there, ready to do the same things over and over as Ashley awaits different results. It's insanity.

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate - What if Ashley has been so **** scared about losing his mo
Charnley is the major problem this summer. I suspect that if he fails to deliver over the next month or so he will be quickly out on his ear. Ashley was effectively blaming Charnley for the lack of appointments. He took the blame for the overall mess, but was letting people know that Charnley should be the one to whom the hate should be directed.
