I presume QPR will have to take a look at the loan market, something which Ramsey should actually be good at as he's spent a long time with our academy and also has experience with England youth squads. Could be a factor as to why Fernandes gave him the job full time.
The main comments were... "It's the club [who are to blame]," Gomes told ESPN Brazil. "Certainly, I would not recommend to anyone [to join Spurs]." "They paid £28 million for Soldado and they don't play him. Or look at Lamela, who was a great promise in Europe, but today you watch Tottenham games and he looks like he can't play football at all." However, he's since started a backtracking spree on Twitter...
He's not bitter He forgets that whilst playing OK for spells, there was always a calamity moment around the corner, which would have looked too ridiculous for a Marx Brothers film.
He's got a point re Lamela. Surely, he has to have something that impressed so many knowledgeable people?
The thing is he was treated pretty well by the club. Ramos refused to drop him when he was making a shaky start, despite a lot of comment from journalists and pundits alike saying we should do just that, and there was even that Blackburn match during this period where the fans were cheering every time he made a save (and, no, it wasn't sarcastically) Similarly, he got a couple of seasons under Harry before Friedel replaced him, and when Lloris arrived the following season it's not "bad treatment" to move him down the pecking order but common sense. His final season at Roma, where he was a genuine standout, saw him playing as an inside forward coming in from the left - yet for us he's always been played on the right. The only time he's played on the left this season that I can recall is the Asteras match, where he scored the rabona3
He is 34 and has just signed a new 3 year deal with Watford. You would think he would be well happy with that, yet he prefers to concentrate on slagging us off. The truth is, we treated him well and if all his alleged quotes are accurate, then he is way out of order.
Makes me laugh when footballers say they've been treated badly when they're earning £50k a week to kick a ball about in training and then have front row seats to a Premier League game each week. Professional footballers in the top tier of football are never treated badly, it's their greedy ego's and high maintenance life style that makes them believe so. People would kill to be in a position where you're paid a wage where it's weekly amount equates to more than most peoples' annual salary to simply do a bit of training, maintain a healthy lifestyle and then either watch or be involved in a football match. Rant over
When footballers complain about being treated badly, just once I wish a journalist would stick this article in front of them and wait until they've finished reading it - before telling them to stop being such a twat: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/apr/19/iraq.football
If Man U win 5-0 and Arsenal lose 2-0 at the weekend they would be level on points, goal difference and goals scored. I think that means they would have to play off at a neutral venue to determine who got into the CL group stage. That would be interesting....
That's what I was thinking. Surely it goes to the winner ( if there is one) of the head to head between the two. Or is that just Europe?
I think this is likely to be no more than a theoretical situation. If Hull lose 0-5 at home on the final day, they deserve to go down.
Power is talking about the battle for 3rd place, not the relegation battle. Hull will be down with a draw.
"If Man U win 5-0 and Arsenal lose 2-0 at the weekend they would be level on points, goal difference and goals scored. I think that means they would have to play off at a neutral venue to determine who got into the CL group stage." The second part of that could is quite likely, as the Goons don't have to win on the last day of the season to secure the PL 4th place Cup.
I didn't say it was likely but it would be highly amusing as the extra match would disrupt their summer plans a lot I suspect!
The heck with the "poor mistreated players".What about the poor mistreated fans? Who was the fool who started this Sunday football lark? Many fans have to be at work early Monday morning......after having to travel to the likes of Sunderland and then get home in time to get to sleep. ....and,heaven to Betsy, some even go to church on Sundays!!!!!!! On top of that,Gomes always reminded me of Popeye's goonie men.Now he's acting like one!
