I have just read that Watford are set to name their 5th manager in less than a year. If this is true, the club should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.
Apparently wants a pay rise. The way they are run (in recent years) is an absolute disgrace. I actually believe they should be barred from the Premier League.
Howe rightly wins LMA manager of the year. Good to see it go to someone that really embodies the best of the sport rather than a certain someone who surrounds himself in the negative sides of the game.
Stoke City have signed Jakob Haugaard, a 23-year-old goalkeeper from Denmark. He won the league in his home country with FC Midtjylland this season and he replaces his fellow countryman Thomas Sorensen. I wonder if this frees up either of their other keepers? Begovic appears to be in demand and Butland's a talented youngster. Wouldn't mind us picking up either of them, depending on what happens with our current crop.
West Ham have qualified for the Europa League via their Fair Play League standing and now enter the first qualifying round. We're in the group stage and our first game is on the 17th September. They face four rounds to get their and start on July 2nd. The U21s Euro final is on the Tuesday of that week. That's a very, very short close season break for their new manager. Hard task for him to get to know their current players, let alone sign and settle new ones. They'll need a larger squad if they're to progress without it significantly damaging their season and league place, I'd have thought.
Congratulations to the Spurs supporter who was on TalkShite about 18:27 today. Normally the producers don't allow intelligent callers to get through to Head WUM Durham, but he did and Durham did not like it at all. Kept going on about ridiculous call, heads gone call etc, but the guy really showed him up. Basically the WUMs were saying that Spurs didn't try hard enough in the Europa League, but the supporter pointed out how our fixtures were really against us, particularly going into the League Cup final after a lot of games while Chelski had a few days off. Durham not interested in these facts.
Durham has spent all season slagging off the Europa competition, yet now he is slagging off clubs for not taking it seriously. The hypocrisy of the man is unbelievable.
Durham is just a paid wum. His job is to wind people up enough so they pay to ring in...good work if you can get it but involves no integrity or honesty imo. I remember him slating spurs for being a selling club when chelsea were first interested in modric and when we refused to sell him he said we lacked class by deny him his dream move He plays the part of a clown well!
Chris Ramsey has made his first signing as QPR manager and he'll probably piss off Tim Sherwood by doing it. Former Spurs youngster, who's obviously worked under both, Massimo Luongo has joined from Swindon for a reported £3m. We could've bought him back for what we sold him for. Think he joined them instead of Villa because he'll have a better chance of starting. Good luck to him. He's done well for himself and deserves a shot in the next division.
I would imagine Sherwood is disappointed at missing out on Luongo. I don't know how close he was to going to Villa, but He was always one of Sherwood's big favourites when they were at Spurs together. I predict Luongo will get the same sort of reputation in the Championship next season as his mate Alex Pritchard has done this season. He's a good footballer who will do well.
Hopefully the £1.5m we just got from the sell-on fee can be used wisely - such as agreeing to Bentaleb's wage demands ASAFP.
Hopefully this means my sister remembers she supports Motherwell - which, given her blatantly plastic choice of who she supports these days, would be an improvement...
It's like Rangers are trying to be a shambles on purpose. Bizarre. Such a mess financially, make it back to the 2nd tier in the only year in which they're likely to face opposition, then blow it horribly. They really don't deserve promotion, but they've still got a chance of it. They'll probably end up finishing 3rd again next season, behind Hibs and St Mirren, then lose in the play-offs to Ross County or something. It's bewildering and frightening how clubs like them, Pompey and Leeds can end up in such an utter mess. It's like they're being deliberately put in that amount of ****, just to scare the rest of the teams into line, so that they don't take any risks. Hanlon's Razor applies, however.
Goons on top...but acting like dying swans when fouled and demanding cards non stop like petulant twats...villa on back foot though
