I reckon Liverpool would be a good fit for Milner. Wenger refusing to answer the questions about Sterling, and Sterling reported to have said he wants out of Liverpool. This, of course, has sent the rumour mill spinning. Personally I think he could be a decent replacement for Walcott, though I'd prefer an upgrade and an out and out wideman or to keep Walcott. Still there could well be nothing in these rumours, or he's already got the transfer sorted out...
I can only see us going for Sterling if Walcott is on his way out. But Sterling wouldn't be a guaranteed first teamer for us and would have to compete with Sanchez, Ozil, Welbeck and OXO. Lets not forget about Gnabry, who has shown very good potential. As I said earlier, only two spots are up for grabs, the CF and DM spots. We clearly lack depth in those positions and would welcome some quality additions.
Di Maria lol he gave the ball away 70 times in one match! Careful what you wish for, his totally inept performances in Spain were overshadowned by his stats of passing to Ronaldo to score, hence his high assists. When United played yeovil, Di Maria was the worst player on the pitch, no world class player should ever be the worst player on the pitch in a game like that, ever! Beware, even his last game for united he still failed to make simple short passes repeatedly. Rooney even began shouting at him. You'll get two quality balls into the box and 20 misplaced short passes from Di maria. He's great against ****e that will let him have yards to roam into with his pacey runs but ask him to defend or retain the ball under pressure and expect to be severely disappointed
Blah di blah di blah di blah... Di Maria is world class. I've watched him. Highlighting one or two games where he hasn't been good doesn't stop him being world class. Ronaldo has had cack games. Messi has had cack games. Bale has had (many) cack games. Henry had cack games. I'd still sign all of them in a heartbeat. As I would Di Maria.
Don't want Milner and not really interested in Sterling either (unless Walcott goes) As mentioned a DM and if we can do it, a world class CF and I'll be as happy as a pig in **** (or as Cym would put it, a sheep's hind legs and a pair of waders )
Those are the only two spots to be honest. DM is the most likely and it depends on who is available and the right (large) successful bid for a potential CF. Also, will Wenger want to give Welbeck/Walcott/Sanogo another go as CF? The problem is we don't have a clear second CF as hes tried all including Sanchez. I don't think any of those has shown the neccessary level that would get us the league or Champions league as CFs. Relying on just GIroud won't get us to that level, thats why we need support in the CF area. Giroud is good but he's no Henry goal machine.
Cech, schneiderlin and cavani would be a nice summer Rumours Cech will be able to choose where he wants to go by Roman as reward for his service to the club. So it might be a deal that's possible and I wouldn't imagine for a keeper with not long left on his contract we'd end up paying much. Schneiderlin I think we could get for £25m -ish. And rumours of Cavani leaving psg have done the rounds for the last few transfer windows, but he'd cost upwards of £50m I think. Tbh Cech + another dm and cf would be fantastic.
That would be a perfect transfer window and see us good to go for next season. As long as Cavani doesn't go for silly money, he would be a very possible transfer. After we pulled out with Ozil and Sanchez, then getting a top CF is definitely achievable.
Twitter rumour that according to reports in Chile Arsenal have agreed a deal with Juve for Arturo Vidal on a four year contract
That would be great. I agree a DM, a striker and a GK. I would go.. Cech Kondogbia Cavani or Lacazette.
