1. Crap recruitment in the summer. The only signings who have looked decent are Dawson and Robertson. 2. Huddlestone and Livermore in Midfield - 1 goal between them - no fight or pace 3. Points thrown away in injury time - numerous times 4. Poor tactics from Bruce 5. Six points lost against Burnley. 6. Devoid of any cutting edge or creativity. 7. Shane Long being sold and replaced by Hernandez 8. Loan players - Ben Arfa and Ramirez - big wages - little effort. Please feel free to add
Disagree with Ramirez but everything else is spot on. We lack drive and endeavour in the final third. Aluko brought that for two games for us Palace and Liverpool. Before and after that we simply have had none of it. One last twist?
I actually think if Ramirez had had a run in the team and stayed injury free we'd have at least had someone who'd have had the ability to play the through ball and open up defences We are just so one dimensional
Too many injuries to judge anyone too harshly, as we lacked the ability to build partnerships and gather flair - we did get glimpses, but then it came crashing down. Our midfield though, has been consistently woeful. We are the team we are and we should have done better, even with those injuries and I think Steve Bruce is responsible for that, no one else - his selections and tactics have gone from puzzling to stupid.
Players getting sent off stupidly, Ramirez cost us v Spurs. Huddlestone had a nice christmas break, even Chester was at it. Ramirez was particularly annoying
McGregor in goal. Beaten more times in the PL from outside the area than any other keeper. That is just ****.
Woeful home performances against Swansea, West Brom, Leicester, Newcastle, Southampton and Burnley Throwing forwards on for the sake of it and hoping something will drop for one of them - at the same time sacrificing the shape of the team Inability to get round the back of opposition defences
Livermore being on the cutting edge of being able to pass up a chance of moving higher upfield ...His packaged delivery is obviously met with a snort of derision. Or being able to recognize the white lines.
Simply not good enough, end of. If your in the position we are at the end of the season its not worth picking on individual games or errors, its a collective failure and everyone needs to put their hands up and take responsibility.
Harsh that. 9 times out of 10 that was a decent free kick to give away, the manager would have wanted him to do it. Unfortunately this instance it was followed by an amazing strike.
Nobody who can run with the ball from midfield or pass the ball forward. We go sideways or back too often. Too much emphasis on wingbacks. Poor finishing. Poor goalkeeper. Late goals. Not much luck.
Crap recruitment in the summer. The only signings who have looked decent are Dawson and Robertson. Snodgrass would have been, our success rate from free kicks would definitely have gone up, it couldnt go lower could it. Diame was excellent but injured. Ramirez good when fit. 2. Huddlestone and Livermore in Midfield - 1 goal between them - no fight or pace. Cant argue with that. I've been on their back all season. 3. Points thrown away in injury time - numerous times. Disappointing defending. Is Dawson as good as the Davies of last season? No 4. Poor tactics from Bruce When he plays 3 at the back it should be 4, when he plays 4 we should play 3. We're always right on here. 5. Six points lost against Burnley. Yep cost us our PL status more than likely. Shocking attitude displayed in both games. See point 2. 6. Devoid of any cutting edge or creativity. No, Jelavic is excellent but has been injured. It was a mistake not to bring in another forward. Aluko is not a forward. When Costa was injured/banned Mourinho didnt push Hazard up top on his own why did we?? 7. Shane Long being sold and replaced by Hernandez Long wanted to go, we couldnt stop him. We should have brought Troy ****ing Deeney. Cameron Jerome was available for 1.5 million. Not prolific but leads the line well. Sorry roo. We paid more than that for a CB we didnt need or use FFS 8. Loan players - Ben Arfa and Ramirez - big wages - little effort. We signed too many similar players. These two plus Ince and Aluko. Worst mistake Bruce made. Ramirez was good in patches but injured too often. Did i mention Troy Deeney It would be good blame the foreign mercenaries but unfortunately it is our British contingent that has let us down, McGregor, Davies, Huddlestone, Livermore. Thats the spine of the team. No one even mentions Davies anymore. He was a superb CB and leader last season.
Of our 34 points we have gained 6 from QPR 6 from Palace 4 from Liverpool 4 from Everton 4 from Sunderland 3 from Villa 1 from Arsenal 1 from Man City 1 from Leicester 1 from West Brom 1 from Newcastle 1 from West Ham 1 from Stoke 0 from Man Utd (so far) 0 from Spurs 0 from Chelsea 0 from Southampton 0 from Swansea 0 from Burnley 27 of our points have come against QPR, Palace, Liverpool, Everton, Sunderland and Villa. Whereas we only have 3 points out of 24 against Leicester, Burnley, West Brom and Newcastle.
I have mentioned Deeney once or twice - He'll do well in the PL. Selling Long and signing that useless streak of piss was, in my opinion the worst of the above.
Long wanted to leave and we got offered good money for him, and what makes you think Deeney would have come to us? He loves Watford/living down South too much to move.
