Well done boys I can't argue about the result and I add my congratulations on a fair result. I am the proudest I have been about my club for a very long time! The lads gave absolutely everything and can ask no more of them over the two legs. We will be back stronger next season of that I have no doubt.
I'm sure you'll have an interesting season next season jwm. I just hope if wea re victorous at Wembley that we can escapr relegation
Yeah I'll be gracious also. For what it's worth, first half I thought our game plan was working wonders and you didn't get going. We looked sharp, first to quite a lot and it looked like we had a good chance. Red card killed us. Shame Berra didn't let it go in ( sadly we'd have all done the same ) as I think even 1-0 down with 11 men we could have got back into it. We did with Smith which showed guts / spirit/ everything we have had all season. Very proud of the blues this season, we have our club back and we'll go again next season. COYB.
To be fair Carrabuh they have gone so many years with no hope this is their cup final and promotion rolled into one. Back to mid table mediocrity for them now.
Carra - we even gave you some credit, I seriously don't understand why you have to be bitter/ obnoxious!? It's not the best quality to have in life. Way I see it, should you go up, make some good signings, you will have a good chance of survival. For us - * Add to the right areas will help. Murphy won't have another year like it. Mings will go. McGoldrick probs too as doubt he'll sign a new deal. * Some clubs ala Derby may well face transfer embargos. QPR/ Burnley coming down don't phase me. I don't see logically why should we sign 4/5 more we won't be top 6 again but we'll see!
Pretty much sums up your character , being optimistic is clearly not in your DNA you old misery guts.
The punishment for QPR, or lack of, could define the Championship next year. Failure to clamp down on them could see the ffp rules ignored, leading to uncontrolled scramble for promotion. Punish then properly, and Ipswich will be one of the stronger teams, unless they lose their leading lights.
Nothing wrong with optimism when you have reason for it. The way I see it is that your building on foundations that will not allow development. I don't think you quite get this. Your team will have to go backwards if it is to go forwards. You are just not going to do anything playing the way you do. I'm not being bitter, I am passing comment on your dreadful style and gloating in its fully deserved failure. Best thing you can do is sack McCarthy and build your club properly.
Carrabuh this is what I fear the most, the last thing we want is for Town to sack that fecking dinosaur McCarthy. If they did that they just might start to move forward and become genuine candidates for promotion next season.
It will take a good 5 years to recover from where they are. They'll eventually sack him when near the bottom and be totally screwed with no philosophy, fans or money. They are on very dodgy ground.
