Someone in the pub said that a couple of people tried to put up a 'Fernandes Out' banner on the pitch after the game, but were 'persuaded' by a few others that this wouldn't be a good idea. Anybody see this?
We do our best by keeping the ball in the air 90% of the time.Thought the pitch looked in absolutely perfect condition yesterday
Spot on, word for word.Nice to see a win at LR yesterday.
We were appalling in the first half, with Hill and Caulker absolutely dreadful!!
Very good from Ramsey to remove Caulker at half time, as, judging by the comments from some around me in the upper loft, he was in danger of being set upon by an early pitch invasion! He really is very poor. The shot of any form Hoilett had to be taken off too and rightly was.
Hill should now hang up his boots. I love his commitment, but I'm convinced that he doesn't help team spirit much. Hoilett was having another mare of a game in front of Hill and all Clint did was throw his arms up and shake his head at Junior. Surely some encouragement would have been in order, which at least we get from Joey? Especially considering that Hill's own game was abysmal in that first half.
He did redeem himself with a fantastic block at the death mind.
Onuoha was very lucky to get away with another pull back in the box. He must be played at CB next season, as he will never be a right back imo.
Fer is a luxury player, but what a goal from a guy with a lot of ability.
McCarthy did very well after some nervy kicking early on and pulled off one very good save down to his right.
Phillips had a good game and actually made a challenge in the midfield which led to Fer's thunderbolt! He was played in a 3 behind Austin yesterday and I maintain that that is his best position, rather than in a traditional wide role in a 4-4-2. Again he pulled out of a few challenges and he really must toughen up in that regard.
Yun looks a bit lightweight, but I think we should persevere with him next season.
Austin showed that he has some ability around the pitch with a couple of great far post crosses. Should have passed to the youngster when he shot wildly wide though.
It was good to see that the players gave a reaction to Ramsey after such an abject first half. The best moment yesterday was Tel's half time analysis when he said, "it's been even worse than I'd imagined it would be"!! Classic.
Pretty much how I saw it. Newcastle seemed to lose all direction and purpose once we equalised, they are a very poor side and I wouldn't be surprised if they join us in the Championship next season.Nice to see a win at LR yesterday.

Thanks Col. It looked odd on MOTD. I'm very sorry to hear that Fer was driven to that by a 'fan' but let's not start that debate again. We have greater concerns to worry about. In reply to RTID, yes Fer did run to SWP after scoring, who's name was booed when the teams were called out. Fer was also having a go at someone in the crowd who had obviously been giving him some stick.
CORRECTION............it was Phillips who ran over to SWP (maybe they're big mates?).
Radio 5 live reported two fans with a "Mercenaries Out!" banner when the pitch was invaded
Ah, quite a different sentiment. My mate obviously needs to clean his glasses.
...unless there were two banners![]()
