I understand your plight; my long standing 'home' club is Heart of Midlothian who nearly went belly up! I suppose that's what you get when you believe an extremely mini version of Abramovich from a Baltic state.!!!

I too josh; f....n' eastern Europeans!!!

Well, that is a coincidence, my Scottish team has always been Hearts, probably because the great Tommy Walker came from there to play for my family team, Chelsea. Suppose we all have favourite teams in different countries? Before I ever came to Germany it was Hamburg (look at them now, what a lousy season for me LOL, one of the worst in living memory). Remember when I was a wee nipper my dad took me to see Tommy Walker play once, could have been for the Army "All Stars" team (half-back line of Britton, Cullis, & Mercer, can you beat that?) against an F.A. "Select" side (mostly R.A.F. personnel) at Wembley. Tommy was was the penalty king of all penalty kings in those days. Honestly don't think he ever missed one! After "guesting" for Chelsea, he joined them permanently (cost £6000). A fine player, was always so cool and elegant, think he played inside-left? He played alongside Tommy Lawton and Len Goulden.

Je suis malade comme un perroquet...

Last year I backed Juventus for the European Cup at 14/1. They were in Real Madrid’s group and they only won one game (against FC Copenhagen) and against Real they drew at home and lost in the Bernabeu; so they did not even make the knockout stages.

I could get 5/1 about them winning one game now...

In 1949 Tommy Walker was followed by Willie Bald (the King) until 1962 (age eight in my years) so I cannot really remember seeing him live. The FC Bayern equivelant would be the changing of the guard from Gerd (der Bomber) Muller to Karl Heinz (again der Konig) Rummenigge; ah memories.

On a different tack imagine my surprise to find my tram in Munchen stopping at Willibaldplatz. Although slightly 'the worse for wear' I got off the tram and had a Weissbier in memory of 'the king'!!!!

You could. And you will be getting the same return you got last year too. Nothing.

I seem to recall quite a few people saying the same thing about Juve's chances against Real. :)

Of course. But not me. Barca are a different beast. Those in the know had given them the trophy in October.

Expect a 2 or 3 nil win in the final.
