Interesting news that the "Independent" Parliamentary Standards Authority have suggested that MP's deserve an 11% pay rise. Politicians eh?
I wonder if the SNP MPs will decline the pay rise out of principle following Sturgeon's rhetoric about austerity.
As far as I'm aware every Scottish party opposed a pay rise at Holyrood. Wonder all you want. They'll vote against it. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/dec/09/scottish-parliament-rejects-westminster-pay-rises
Considering an mp earns about the same as a middle manager at tesco, I'd say they do deserve a n 11% rise. You know what you get when you pay peanuts.
There's an awful lot of that about, that and the cries of a need for an urgent use of PR so UKIP can get 40 seats or whatever. It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who claim that this is not Democracy simply because they never saw the party they support in government.
Except a middle manager at Tesco does not have a wildly generous expenses account for furniture, office space/staff, travel, a second home etc.
