If someone is going to have a pop at me I am going to question why I am certainly not being questioned on derby day for supporting Ipswich Town by one of my own.

Anyone want to talk about the football? I thought MIngs immensely better than he was in the Carrow Road League fixture

I'll await a response from Welly and go from there all the same.

Not once been questioned for being a blue and not remotely impressed.

Maybe so, but it's those kind of comments that derails a perfectly good thread. If Ipswich supporters are unable to act their age then maybe just stick to your own board and let the adults talk.

I thought both Chambers and Mings edged their respective duels with Johnson and Redmond!

Yes but surprised how ineffective the Ipswich strikers were when faced with our accident prone back four

I agree with that, we played Sears to deep for my liking, he should have been playing right on top of Bassong, he is as you say a calamity waiting to happen, the couple of times we put him under pressure in possession he hoofed it into the stands and on the other occasion gave away a very cheap corner.

Eh? It wasn't a criticism. I was saying it was cleverly done.

The pitch was definitely heavily watered - did you see the number of players who slipped all over the place? The ball was also not rolling smoothly. Are you serious?

The whole point of home advantage is it allows you to tailor the pitch to your advantage. There was nothing cheating about it, it was neatly done. I was impressed because it was a clever ploy to stop our style and superior quality of player. I would commend it and expect us to be doing the same at home by making the ground best suited to us. And if we came up against a more expensive, technically proficient side, I would also expect our groundsman to try to make it as difficult as possible for the opposition to take away their edge.

I don't think there is an dispute that our players, on paper, are better than yours (is there?) That means McCarthy has to use every trick in his book to get your guys playing as a better team than ours. This was one way. It worked. <applause> McCarthy I say.

I remember when Southampton used to play hoofball many years ago they used to cut the grass different lengths in different parts of the pitch so the ball would bounce differently in patterns known only to their players.

John Beck's Cambridge used to persistently knock on the opposition's door during pre-match and half time team talks - likewise they would issue the opposition with a solitary tea bag for half time! Also recall the great story that Steve Claridge was placed on the transfer list by Beck for yelling during a training session 'to feet, play it to my feet'

As I've said on here before, I've got a lot of time for McCarthy. Yes, he tends to put out sides which are rather one-dimensional, but he's one of the best in the business at getting a limited side to perform above their 'natural' level. Most importantly for me, he does it without any of the cheating and play-acting that we see in the Karanka/Mourinho style. He plays fair.

I will be skinned alive for this, I'm sure, but if it comes down to Ipswich-Middlesbrough in the final, I think I want Ipswich to go up. I don't like anti-football, but anti-football with what is euphemistically called 'gamesmanship' but is actually cheating really gets my goat. In what has been something of a classic season in the Championship, there is no way a team like Middlesbrough should be going up as one of its representatives.

Ipswich to go up. May I be forgiven for my sins.

I don't take the argument that Middlesbrough played anti-football against us. They battered us for about 20 minutes and then Bamford got injured after which they say back because they decided to play with 10 men rather than sub him. Even whilst sitting back they created far more chances than we did.

Granted Ayala and the goalkeeper may have feigned injury to waste time but I don't think any Norwich fans can honestly look at the boro game and say we deserved anything.

In my opinion whoever goes through from this tie will lose to Middlesbrough in the final
