I think Carver will get the job full time, I very much doubt anyone else is interested in the job. As for Carver doing the right thing and stepping down, yeah right!! he loves it, his the main man now and he will honestly believe money will be spent in the summer, He can go out and buy crouch, cattermole, barry, huddlestone, Charlie addam and other outdated aged players where he can use his 1980's tactics

Todays News, Carver asking club for protection from fans hurling abuse at him.

    "
John Carver: Newcastle United boss wants 'protection from abuse'
Newcastle boss John Carver has called for more protection from the club after saying he was "abused" by fans during Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Swansea.

A seventh straight loss left United five points above the Premier League relegation zone with four games to go.

Carver was confronted by angry home fans during the club's lowest attended game of the season.

"I am not going to stand out there and be abused during the game. The club has to do something about it," he said.

"I knew it wouldn't be easy. Sometimes it is quite difficult to stand in that technical area and be abused the way I was abused without any protection from the sidelines."

Supporters have been vocal in their criticism of Carver, who replaced Alan Pardew in December, and some fans held up signs calling for owner Mike Ashley to stand down during the Swansea defeat.

I didn't hear Pardew whining that he needed protection and the abuse of him was far worse. Grow a pair Carver and shut up. You're a ****ing traitor.

Christ Carver you embarrass yourself more as every day passes. Count your lucky stars you are still here as your fat **** carcass should have been catapulted out of St James after the bullshit at Southampton. How you have the temerity to say anything about abuse is beyond me. Just bury yourself alive now to avoid further humilation.

Disgraceful from the fans, there is no need to abuse the bloke. He's trying his level best, he's got nothing more to give <laugh>

Carver has no professional integrity whatsoever, which might be regarded as a surprising comment considering his forebear nutted a player, however, this is NUFC FFS. I reckon Mike Ashley would only vote in an election if one of the candidates had behavioural problems.

Carver is ****, the players are ****, Mike Ashley's ambition for the club is super ****, and I for one would pray for relegation if it was certain we would get rid of all three, but we all know we'd be stuck with Carver and Ashley, we'd just have less **** players... By virtue of having less ****ing players.

If we stay up, it would cost an absolute fortune to make us good enough to stay up the season after, never mind rise the table. Cash in on Janmaat and Sissoko, Krul can stay as a first teamer, Abeid and Colback ill do as back-ups, and all the others must go.
