" Tb, i absolutely hate the way we are playing, it really is Sunday league stuff, absolutely no skill and flair. "

Spanish I must confess I agree with this however it's working................ don't ask how but it's working.

If it wasn't and we were 17th, I'd be up in arms. We're 6th, best league campaign since 0405.... who am I am to moan.

How many times this season have we said that of the opposition? Not all of us agree with the game-plan, but somehow or other we always manage to make the other team look distinctly average. On paper we have the "weakest" footballing side in the top 8-10, but I would be confident in saying that no team will enjoy the prospect of playing us

Again we are and again with the budget and how s*** we've been for 10 years playing all kinds of footy, I really couldn't care less!

Understand everyone wants us to do well :)

I think in several instances it has been a case of us dragging better teams down to our level, with Skuse et al putting a foot in so effectively they can't play their natural game.Whilst closing down efficiently is an admirable trait to win the ball, once you've got it a modicum of skill/application to find a player in the same coloured shirt would be appreciated rather than a panicky hoof upfield.

Long may that continue. We dragged Wolves and Watford down, with what we've got I'm delighted.

Would love us to be a little braver/ do more on the ball but out of the ball we're fantastic.

Beat Forest and we're top 6 and have a shot, end of! Incredible really.

Of course I would be happy watching any style in the Premier League.

Direct football is much maligned - laughed at....... but WHY should be it be? When football was invented, was there one way to play? I'd love us to play a bit more but the results are bang on at present, I'll take anything !

Not disputing that being a little smarter on the ball would be a lot easier to watch and force our opponents to stop us from time to time instead of being back to square 1 after a hoof. But when after 90 minutes we get the point/s we need, i'm content.

Oh Spanish of course we all want us to play more attractive football - but after 44 games and us in this position / and we've been playing similar football the entire season then yeah that's how we're going to play! It is a results game at the end of the day!

I'm LOVING this season, very good chance of play offs - beat the Forest please then bring on whoever.

Mick has absolutely transformed this club from the utter mess left by Keane and Jewell. Long may he continue!

After a near decade of underachievement and lower mid-table mediocrity (throw in a few relegation dogfights), I think it's a welcome relief and change to see us challenging at the right end of the table and in for a serious chance of a top six finish.

Yes, the playing style can be dull and negative, but it's certainly effective and yielding success. Of course, it wasn't even this negative all season, we played some attractive football between September and December when we went on an incredible run of form. In an ideal world, this side would be playing attractive football and cantering to promotion, but the fact we're resembling a decent side after years of disappointment, with a squad made up of freebies, loanees, and academy graduates don't forget, I think we can put this season down as a welcome sign of development.

Be honest, would you really be complaining about the style of football if we managed to achieve promotion this season? I'd take a return to the Premier League, and the financial reward that brings, regardless of the style of play after so many years at this level.

I could be wrong but I think this team cost £110,000 this season in transfer fees, which in itself is a hell of a lot of money but in football terms is a pittance, an almost laughable amount, but these lads and the management team have kept us in the top 7 or 8 for most of the season, and I for one think that's a hell of an achievement.
We would all like to see fast, smooth flowing, quick passing football all of the time but with a team made up for the most part of other Clubs rejects what the Hell does anyone expect? We should all be proud of whats been achieved in our best season for years and whatever the state of play 6 of us will be at Blackburn supporting Mick and the boys to hopefully a play off place, who could have imagined that after the state Dumb and Dummer left us in?
Ipswich Town play **** football? MM is a **** manager? FFS you couldn't make it up.

Jewell apparently tried to play nice football ...and most weeks we just bent over for the opposition to hammer us....I know we play an unpopular style (I don't think we lump the ball aimlessly but admit we don't mess about with it at the back) every game I have seen this season has been more competitive than most under Jewell and Keane.....I think when Murphy is on his game and gets the ball down to bring those around him into it we look decent but if Murph has an off day then the whole team suffers IMO.
