If I were a ManU fan I would be feeling short-changed tonight! They played all the football and we took all the points! Happy days though--the Blues sure know how to win! Time to get the Champers in the fridge fellow Blues!

It's quite shocking mate how they conduct themselves really. United are back? Dear God, will they never learn? It seems not. Almost scouse like in their expectancy levels. Kenyon called it years ago.

Shows his mental strength.

Many years ago Chelsea fans laughed at Fabregas. Footballs a fickle old game.

What the bejusus are you on about? Please elaborate on your claim. We have never ever laughed at Fabregas.

Talking of fickle, how is that Wellbeck lad getting on?

About the same as he was here. Not really progressing.

Probably why we sold him.

This will either be a complete bore fest or the Jose of old will reappear and spring a surprise. Take your pick. Mine is safety first from us, with all the usual suspects in there to "track back". Expect to see Ramires, Cahill, Terry, Azpi Ivan and Matic as a steel fence, the midgets buzzing around the sidelines, Fabregas keeping some control, and god knows who up front trying to score off crosses and corners.
Don't think we'll see Zouma or Luis or anyone who might give us some thrust.
I wouldn't blame Jose for these tactics, much as I loath them, we are close enough to touch the trophy, and now is not the time to try new things. That time was weeks ago and we lost that chance.
In truth it's hard to see a win for Chelsea, just the probability of a risky draw.
Well I got a few things wrong here, Zouma played and did very well, and we did win! Despite the safety first tactics, it was far from the borefest I expected, and was a nail biter until the end.
Got to love Jose saying after the match " we had united in our pocket ", though it's true we did nullify their in form players. Not how I like to see us set out, but this time it was an exciting and edgy 90 mins. Hazard again showed why he's the most dangerous and best player in the PL, and at last Oscar looked like he was part of the team. Very well earned 3 points, even doing it the hard way.

Hmm...pretty much knew how we would set up for this game even a month ago given Utd's form - Jose's not one for charging his cavalry straight at the guns - an ugly win but a crucial win none the less.

Deep down, Chelsea fans would not want to be dominated at home but a rival for most of the match. That was what got Jose fired the first time around. Boring and taking no risks = watching wall dry stuff for Roman. Yes, they will win the title, but definitely would not be the most coveted champions.
Do I detect the start of the sour grape harvest, gonna be a vintage year for vinegar

I thought the match entertaining, but then I did play as a defender. All the kids wanted to be the striker and the last one picked has to be goalie (I was sub goalie too, but usually pick early or captain).

Free flowing attacking football is usually attained against rubbish opponents or good ones having a really bad day. Chelsea weren't any of these. As a fan I hate defending deep and trying to thread passes through the eye of a needle to break out. Our nerves much prefur possession football, moving the ball quickly with one or two touches and shouting Ole after 12 or more passes. As someone who liked to play footie at left fullback though(sod being a wing back), nothing is as satisfying as watching attackers get more and more frustrated, blocking the ball then hoofing it clear.

The history books would show that we were champions. There would be no mention of how it was done. Up until February we were playing football that nobody else could live with and, at the end of the day, the reason that United had most possession was due to how we set up. Jose and the players knew that.

So he wasn't confident in any other way to win apart from a " park the bus watching pain dry" tactics? He is not that good is he? <whistle>

I wouldnt say nobody could live with it. You parked the bus for a large part of the game at Old Trafford too.

Mourinho basically told us that he thinks United are a better team. Which is weird, considering Chelsea are top of the league.

Or he didn't want to do a rodgers and blow it. Why go for it when you don't have to. If i was winning a race why would i start doing things spectacularly and blow my chances. The answer is you don't (unless you're rodgers)

I think the next time we play United LVG should tell Jose how he would like us to play and we'll see if we can accommodate a victory for them. We heard the same bull when we spanked Liverpool and stopped them winning last years title.

We'll have two trophies on our bus this year. United will have nothing on their flairoplane. :1980_boogie_down:
