It was supposed to be the day Liverpool emerged from the shadows of the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
It was the moment they awoke from their slumbers to take a massive step towards ending their 25-year wait for a top-flight title.
Yes - exactly a year ago today,
Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 at an electric Anfield to leave themselves just four wins from winning the Premier League.
They didn't go again.

The dream is over

A year on and Liverpool will certainly feel as though they have woken up from any dream.
As we all know - with Steve Gerrard's trip and all that - they didn't go on to win the title and now look as though Champions League football will evade them for next season.
Luis Suarez has long since gone, Raheem Sterling might be on his way and Kop darling Gerrard is off to finish his career in the United States.
Oh, and bitter rivals Manchester United have re found their mojo....
